Ian Perrie

Postby bulldogs » Tue Sep 11, 2007 11:15 pm

Just read on the roosters website that Ian Perrie will not be taking part in the finals for the NAFC. I believe it was a mutual agreement between Ian and the Nafc. The roosters felt they needed to play the youngsters i think its for team balance they are far to top heavy with Alleway, Gill , White and Perrie and with the power in the finals i think they would of had to play white. Bad luck to Perrie who i think is not blessed but when he plays close to goals he leads well and gives you a crack. Good luck ian in the WAFL next year.

Got the " Don't Come Sunday " ? Some of the posters on the Roost have been scathing of the bloke lately.
Good luck to him whatever his future holds, be it here or interstate.

I think he'd be happy to just have a kick and not have 10,000 online forum threads start every week having a crack at him.

Imagine typing your name into Google and having that much flack coming up week after week - you'd want to find the nearest gas chamber

He must wish he never started playing sometimes

Hope he can enjoy his footy again wherever he ends up

But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

I think that's great news. Perrie is a tough player to match up on and North, IMHO, will be weaker without him. You don't play 100 AFL games or whatever his tally is up to without being good regardless of what many fans' ill-informed opinions might be.

obviously someone was going to miss out as north would be too top heavy up forward & rain forecasted which wouldn't help the cause, i think north went the way of we'll have the kid for 10 or so years & with perrie we only see him occaisionally & he may not even be here next year, perrie's smart thinking last year won north a game at the bay when he intercepted a macconnell across the ground kick & duly slotted through a goal
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

I actually thought this year from the games he played at North - apart from being lost at CHB for the first 20 minutes in the loss against the Maggies - Sarge has played well for us.

I also have it on good authority that the Crows insisted on him playing with a bad shoulder for the past few weeks in case they needed to call him up. Other medical opinion outside West Lakes suggested he should have missed one or two games to get the injury right. I think that has been a factor also in the decision not to use him come finals.

That sounds more like it. Wouldn't make sense to give up on playing in a finals series, even in North's reserves side. The other kids might have learned something valuable, while Perrie and the crows would think that only good things could come from a good finals performance.

Would he hang around in case one of the mentioned big men went down?

Good luck to the bloke, obviously had his limitations but had a good workrate and was unjustly criticised at times imho.

That's what it said in North's media release.

BTW, I have bagged Perrie a bit in the past, but I thought (other than when he was played down back) he had been OK for us, certainly not close to the worst in a couple of pretty bad losses, but team balance looks a lot better without him there.

I don't think many league clubs think that about their juniors anymore, it is more likely a case of promoting juniors from within the club as opposed to someone who has been perceived to be not 100% for the cause.

Surely this also hints that Perrie is done with the AFC?

I think North are saying that after this year Perrie won't be around so why bother playing him now?

I would play him, don't worry about next year North should be putting their best 22 on the park to win this years flag! and Perrie has to be in their best 22 you would assume. Interesting call by the club imagine the outcry by their supporters if North don’t make the grand final.
