Having been footy retired for about 15 years and cricket retired about 7 years I can honestly say I don't miss it. I miss the comradery of the clubs but I can't say I "miss" the sporting side of things. Sure, it would be nice to kick another goal, belt another 6 or take another wicket but I could give that all away to be back in the team environment, that's all that I miss from those days.
It's interesting how we look back on these things.
Hearing ya, I've still got a decent leg on me in between hamstring strains and always get asked to go have another kick, I'm content with it being in my past.
Cricket is a little different, I went from playing A's and coaching the seniors, womens and a junior side to having to walk away from a club that I grew up at to find who I was again, won a heap of premierships during my tenure and I'm grateful for that, I play the odd game every now and then and may return to it at some stage but my kids sports are my main focus now.
The last game I played I got to play with my son and my daughter, I even stuck around long enough to bat with both of them, now I think it would be the other way around with my son now, he'd be better than me.
