I know this type of thing has been discussed before, but I can't find it anywhere .. Any suggestions for a good place to stay and enjoy a date night with the missus? Accommodation, decent feed and a few drinks are probably the necessities, anything else a bonus. TIA

Barossa Novotel is good for what you are wanting especially this time of year.

Rooms there are great, good views over the Barossa, the restaurant is pretty good (fire going for the winter ambiance - said in best Micky Flanagan posh Cockney accent), can sample a few wineries on the way up, they had a wine tasting at 5:00 pm when we were last there.

My missus is F***in fussy about accommodation and restaurants and it passed her test.

For $300 I reckon it's pretty good and, champagne, warm bath, once you wake her up you should be fine.

Good choice, fridge's are a bit small so a bag of ice in the basin will do the trick for excessive beers or alike.

Yeah, we went and had a sticky beak around the place last stay, although we didn't dine there, the food looked alright, a tad limited if anything but reasonably priced.
