Port were minor premiers and expected to make up for a disappointing 2002 finals series by easily accounting for the Swans. It was Fathers Day, so I took my two boys to the game full of optimism. Adam Goodes almost single handedly dismantled the Power in one of the best individual performances I have ever seen.
From all of Port's losses, trials and tribulations, this game scars me the most.
We were so far ahead of the rest of the competition in 2003. Won 18 of our last 20, hadn't lost at AAMI stadium since R2 of that season, spent the last 11 weeks of the season on top and to not even make the GF that season still hurts. Roos and Sydney completely dismantled us in the first half and we probably made the scoreline look better than it deserved to be, had it not been for some injuries tiring the Swans players.
