RATING 0.5

Do your data checks and list the % of wins by teams at home as against nuetral grounds + away games

CD at home this year undefeated
Lost twice at Prospect + Unley

POINT = Home ground advantage is an advantage compared to away + nuetral games

2 teams in over 100 years of footy says it all

EG finished 3rd be grateful

mal, get your facts right because as usual you only put what you want to put up, as up until 1973 (great year) it was a final 4 system, bar for one year earlier this century it has been the final 5 system since then, so get it right & i'd suggest its not where they're playing but the playing of already injured players that is the problem

twice in 33 years then

Do you think maybe, just maybe, that there is a tinsy winsy possibility that the reason why teams from 4th or 5th find it so hard to wins flags is that over the season at lest one team (with a possibility of another two) have clearly demonstrated that they are better than the teams that finish 4th and 5th ????

RATING 6
yes usually the teams that finish higher on the ladder are the best teams

How many mistakes can you make here Mal? not only have you been caught out saying 2 teams won from 5th in 100 years but you claim one was "PP". Port Power?

RATING 6
cant disagree with the best teams finish higher

Thanks for pointing out my mistakes
Make sure you throw a post in sometime pointing out how correct I might be

centrals had a very difficult draw in a different way, getting the bye last round again, when they had it in 2002. What a joke now they play 1 game in 4 weeks and possible 2 in 6 weeks. It surely is not there turn to have the bye in the last round.

Sturt decided to go with AO games, they called the shots - possible to get match practice at the ground in preparation for finals.
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

On Jan. 18th on RPH 1197am, Stuart Totham our outstanding CEO told both Paul Blandis and ds32 that the SFC received the least desirable of the draws which were submitted to the SANFL.

Enough said!!!

Err... I wonder if having to play Centrals 3 times in Minor Round & twice @ Elizabeth within 5 weeks might out rank that ???

Not only that but we had to go to friggin' Port Elliott in the first round !!!

Do you hear us complaining ???

Keep making excuses... Pfft

LEH, your team is the reigning premier and your draw cannot be construed as difficult by having to play anyone 3 times.

SP, I think the only complaint about the draw for the dogs is a final round bye - round 17 or 18 would have done just nicely. But life goes on.

Why?

Because nearly every match was to be played against teams that finished above them on the ladder last year?

I love reading abuse coming from Eagles fans. All this diatribe about not being good enough and so on and so forth. I'm happy to take that from Centrals fans, but geez Eagles fans?

We have a team here that's been rolled in 4 out of 5 grand finals, one of them by a margin a nerd with a calculator would have difficulting summing up. Some, I repeat, some, Eagles fans need to get over themselves.

There were tons of good sides in the 1990's, but lets face it, Port won just about everything and were the dominant force of the decade and everyone else was hidden in what was their HUGE shadow!

Now we're in a period where the Dogs are that side. Massive. 7 grannies in succession. 5 premierships. Torrens and Sturt have done well to grab a flag, Torrens have done even better to make 5 grand finals, but I think Eagles fans handing out abuse and advice to other fans is just pushing it a bit far. Its hard to take seriously, any bellowing from Eagles fans, when they've been such an abject failure when it comes to Grand Finals.

People can throw about the "well at least we made it" line, but I don't recall anyone defending Centrals when they "made it" a few times against Port or jumped to the defence of Geelong when they made it in 89, 92, 94 and 95.

Losing a lot of Grand Finals, whether you like it or not, sorta makes anything you say a bit hollow. Torrens might go on to win the next couple of flags and kudos to them if they do, then the fans can come out and gloat at their power, 3-4 flags they'll say, but until then, you're in Centrals shadow as much as the rest of us. We're all clambering for the crumbs they might give us. To say otherwise is just deluding yourself.

Yeah everyone is a chance this finals series, but we all know, deep down, Centrals are by far in the box seat yet again.
