Subject matter the STURT DRAW in 2007
7 home games
3 home games played on a ground they lost 3 times
That indirectly is the cause of ST missing a double chance

As for some of the crap that proceeded the topic .....

I think an inability to stand up to the second half pressure on Friday night cost us the double chance though...

I think that we will only know after the next three weeks if it was a good thing or not for Sturt to do. There is nothing to say that they would have won any of those matches had they been at Unley. It will give Sturt a huge advantage in the finals to have played at Adelaide Oval so often.

Funny the EAGLES played 3 games at Thebarton(the eagles second home whether the fans like playing there or not) and did not win every game at thebarton.And the EAGLES scrapped through into third spot with the double chance .
The eagles fans are not complaining about not finishing higher up the ladder .What helped the EAGLES is winning more games after round 10 than before round 10.
Yes before the season started Sturt were tipped as being bottom then when Sturt started winning something about the second best side and coach in the league was mentioned .Then what happened Sturts win loss ratio changed .
Its one thing being touted as playing in a grandfinal in April/may but the real season starts now.And if sturts fans were fair dinkum fans like Eagles(we are few in number but loud in voice on the net) or Centrals you would not be making posts like above.

Forget the minor round it doesn't matter what happened last week .Get behind your team not just on a BANDWAGON .Be at the ground and give voice and not run down your side or Coach. Because if you don't you aren't never going to go forward.

Thats all IMHO.
But geez forget whinning and get on with the finals.

Did make a point about EG had a similar draw to ST and got the double chance BUT JUST !

Would I have been disappointed if the EAGLES missed the double chance and the answer would be yes.But they would have still made the finals.At one stage this year the EAGLES looked like missing the finals or more than once. And this EAGLES fan would have been more disappointed if his team missed the five.

Correct me if I am wrong did not Norwood win a flag from fifth spot and Sturt from fourth.Its never over until the final siren sounds Mal.

Only Norwood has won from 5th. Port was 4th in 1998. It would thus be once in only 33 years, not over 100, since the final 5 system has only been played since 1973, omitting 2003.

Fair go Micky J! Which Sturt supporter are you talking about?
Forgetting results and direct discussion about matches, there have been so many threads discussing Sturt's turn in fortunes this year. Many were started by Sturt supporters and many were started by neutral fans. If you want to complain about what people in general are talking about, that's fine, but don't start with the "Sturt fans this, Sturt fans that..yadda yadda" because a Norwood fan has discovered some quirk in the draw.
But thanks for all the advice about bandwagons, supporting our team and being nice to the coach and stuff, if we were complaining about the draw I think those comments would be pretty close to the nail, but seeing that we aren't, well I am not going turn my nose up at advice given with the best intentions now Micky.

If Sturt can't win against decent oppositin at AO then it won't matter whether they get the double chance or not. Ricky and the club obviously felt more games at their finals venue was worth more than the home ground advantage of Unley oval. However in the end if a team is good enough they'll win anywhere. Premiership teams win on more than 1 ground!

That's why you didn't get the Double Chance, simple as that.

1 win since the bye means that STURT are the team that has NOT had the depth of the other 4 & DEPTH was ALWAYS going to be your problem... it has NOTHING to do with WHERE you played the games.

This is why you lot (Sturt fans & 'wagon hoppers) are NOT taken seriously because REALITY is (for many of you) not in your thinking.

Was it the ovals fault a couple of years ago when NW beat NA in the wet
in the last round at Adelaide oval and it cost NA the Double chance ?

The un natural conditions were caused by a water retention agent being put on the oval before the unexpected 24 hr downpour occured...........................I guess you could blame mother nature and/or Les Burdett though

Honestley, it was unfortunate that a game that should have been a good spectacle and had a lot riding on it for one of the teams was turned into a swimming carnival, but they both had to encounter the same conditions, Norwood were much better swimmers and handled the conditions much better. I doubt we will ever see Adelaide Oval in that condition again.

mal, get your facts right because as usual you only put what you want to put up, as up until 1973 (great year) it was a final 4 system, bar for one year earlier this century it has been the final 5 system since then, so get it right & i'd suggest its not where they're playing but the playing of already injured players that is the problem
