I remember as a kid in Darwin thinking it was the best place ever.

Went there as an adult twice. Once at Holden Hill (disgusting) and once in the city (also disgusting).

I went to the one in Glenelg around 8 years ago and it was ******* shit house. Food was shit and dead set rip off.

In the 90's it seemed reasonable enough, but perhaps that was before most pubs got their act together. Didn't go for years and years, then went to the one in Canberra CBD the other year and I can't remember a worse meal.
Tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, early Tuesday evening 5pm, so not their optimum time for cooking. Could feel the staff morale wasn't right, steak was like a fatty bit of roast, fries greasy and them and veggies lukewarm like lunch's leftovers. Apple crumble desert, mixed with melting icecream in a milkshake glass, was , and I have a strong stomach . And to top it all off, when I first got there the waiter asked (I didn't order) if I wanted still or sparkling water, so I thought that's nice, water for the table like other restaurants, still please, only to find they bit me 7.50 for below-average tap water.
