Brahma Lodge went from hard wicket to turf. There are plenty of teams that have relaid their centre squares and the process is similar. I was involved with Ingle Farm when they relaid their centre wicket a few years back. At the time there were only a few options - Belair Turf Management and Sports Ground Construction. Not sure what options are available now. Either way, it's an expensive exercise to set up and then maintain.

Were the council involved or offer to be involve at any stage or contribute financially?

Yes they were. In fact we couldn't have done anything without the support of the council. My recollection is that it was part funded by a state government grant and part funded by council. We would have struggled to fund it without getting the grant. You should check out what grants are available (state and local govt) and commence consultation with the council.

With Council experience, I would recommend getting City of Charles Sturt involved in the whole process, especially flagging your interest. You never know if they have any funding they can contribute to assist with the $ for $ grants. They may also need to look at irrigation plans to see if there are any major changes that need to occur for a turf square to go in.

Cricket Australia have a Facility Guidelines document available.

They estimate costs at $200 to $300 per square metre for a 5 pitch square 2.8m wide by 25m long

We have done that, they recently asked for a wish list and we obliged  Haven't had any feedback yet and am experiencing with the grants that they are mostly achievable if you match the contribution.
I know they put in turf pitches at St.Clair for Woodville and it didn't cost Woodville anything, but they were also accommodating for soccer.

Better move on soon, more important cricket matches to focus on.

We have asked for a please explain. In regards to the result I think we have moved on and looking towards chasing down Walkerville's 178 to get back in the top 4

4 pitch square will cost you roughly $80k.

Hit up ORS for half under their facilities program, there's $40k.
Then go to CCS and say you've got 50% locked in, and ask if they can go 50:50 on the other half, there's another $20k.
Then go to SACA and hit them up, they'll often throw in $10-15k.

Sell a couple of BBQs and you'll get the remaining 5-10k and you're done.

Just curious, how do they pick the teams for this match that was played on Adelaide Oval??

Was it the Para Hills A1 team that played?

Don't they compete in the 20/20 comp that PAOC and Pooraka played in?

Just wondered how that all worked?

The first game was the ATCA T20 competition final. This is comprised of group stages and then finals (Para Hills bombed out in the Semi against PAOC).
The 2nd game was the Country Living Homes T20 Final. The top 4 teams from 4 Associations compete in two different pools. Our pool was ATCA and PDCA clubs made up of SPOC, Para Hills, Flinders Park and Pooraka (the teams that finished top 4 in last years ATCA comp) and Salis West, Virginia, Angle Vale and Craigmore (I think), each game played is an elimination. The other side of the draw was ASCA and not sure the other Association. Winner of Pool A played the winner of Pool B in the Grand Final.
If Para Hills won the semi final of the ATCA comp we would have played the 1st and 2nd game.

it was the Para Hills A1 team that played on Sunday.

Reynella did this a few years back, around 2011/12 i think?

Surely it was longer ago than that?? I recall them in SCA when i was U16's and i reckon it was only a couple years later they were in ATCA - must be early 2000's?

2006/07 we went turf. Best thing we ever did!

The council were involved pretty heavily as we had our old irrigation ripped up and new popups installed as well as digging up the concrete wicket.
We supplied the clay and turf for 5 wickets, council paid for excavation and sprinkler system
It was a pretty expensive exercise, but by far the most important thing is getting a good curator to look after it.

Minimum $10k.
It depends on how much work club people put in for free.
