You've gotta take your hat off, they've channeled in to the Afghan community, they gave our free shirts, hats and rego to get kids out there, they've done the hard yards, my lad was almost out there last season, it was a Tuesday and he was heading to the Wednesday training session to sign up on first game week.

NEK should really be top, I doubt NP will get to keep the outright points they have for the previous round given the match was stopped before the end.

Whilst I do agree in principle.. ER are the side that decided to walk off and end the game.. regardless of the circumstances they made this choice - so I guess North Pines could argue the case.

Especially given the “walk off” occurred half a dozen overs after the alleged incident.

Guess I wasn’t there I can’t comment, but they had the best umpire in the business (lol) officiating - surely he had some level of control or input?

As much as I've had many run ins with North Pines over the years and I've played and coached at the Royals, I have a lot of good friends out there too still, from what I have heard from a Royals player that the game wasn't fiery, even when the skipper approached the umpire to inform him that they wanted to stop the game.

I heard the North Pines players were gracious and understanding as they complied and left the field, a couple of supporters had called things out but nothing outrageous and it certainly wasn't the playing group, they were disappointed if anything as their finals campaign could be derailed by possibly losing one of the best young cricketers floating around the PDCA at the moment.

Freeman is a good lad, I haven't had a great deal to do with him but seen him coaching the 14's earlier on in the season and had a few little chats with him, I was very impressed with his conduct as I'm sure he'd have better things to do at 7:30am on a Saturday morning, his attitude towards the kids was excellent along with his conduct as an umpire during the game.

Ok. I was given poor information then.

All the points raised above really mean nothing if a line has been crossed and by the sounds it has well and truly been crossed.

Hopefully the right decisions are made from here on in and the competition isn’t too badly affected by this disappointing situation.

I'd hardly say well and truly crossed, the comment wasn't great but was at the lower end of the scale.

Yes, there is zero tolerance but there is also educating young lads too.

Not sure how it hasn’t been well and truly crossed if it’s zero tolerance.

Anyway we will all find out soon enough!

The Gardens had a forgettable day doing a Redbacks, Marsden scored 28 of the first 34 runs, Atherton scored 24 of the last 26, between them they scored 52 of the team's 60, a gutsy 2nd dig though to fight off an outright defeat.

Atherton was a handy bat when he played at Ingle Farm, the same can be said for Baxter with the ball.

He's had a reasonable year, his name pops up often.

That doesn't surprise me as he was consistently making 20s and 30s at the farmers. Just didn't grab his opportunities when offered them
