Time on period last quarter
GL lead EG by 12 points
Its on the half forward line for EG, VINCE gathers a snap , itsa goal, a freaky goal
GL lead by 6 points a couple of minutes to go
The ball is in the EG forward pocket, the ball spills out VINCE picks up
VINCE eludes a defender, baulks, snaps on the non preferred left foot for another goal
Scores are level one minute to go .......

OK back to todays game
BIG BAD BUDDY what a player, and I feel for the guy that plays in the midfield
for Norwood who had to stand him all day ........

And what a courageous effort by AC playing one player short today ........

QUIZ TIME

Who was the AC player who has been injured in his last 3 games at the DOOM .....?

SUMMARY

AC
Considering the list of aging superstar players and the lack of very good young players
at the club, the lack of quality draft picks, I think AC has done well to play finals in 2007

HW
Will lose next week whoever they play
The next team will prob put a player above 6 foot on BIG BAD BUDDY ...

LMAO REB one feels the Hawks might be struggling next week with injuries to Bateman and Hodge. But were they gutsy or what coming back into the game injured the hawks seemed to get a lift out of that.

a lot of people said the crows would not make the 8 this year

a lot can happen from now to next season, however, Adelaide need a total re-think on it's list and it's game plan

it is time for some big decisions

The kick to Buddy is a metre either way and the Crows have a 3 point win and we'd be getting excited about the potential Prelin final showdown

Buddy marks and converts from 55m and now there's huge problems at the Crows - well, according to the party going on in the Power/Eagles thread anyway

Trials and tribulations of footy!

Definite areas to work on for 2008 - ditto every club.

Port, Geelong and Kangaroos are inspiration to any team that quick turnarounds are never too far away. Keep positive lads!

Very Very disappointing end to a someone disappointing season...

It's easy to sit here and say Thompson should have hit Gill (who was 3 - 4m clear of his oponent) and we win the match.. BUT 10 goals to 5 at the 11 min mark of the 2nd quarter, Hodge, Bateman off - Crows thought they had done enough and the gutsy determined Hawthorn were too good in the end..

I don't think the best skilled team won today - but the best team did.. Hawthorn's work ethic after half time made the Crows look like a group of under 9's who didn't want to chase or work unless they could get the football.. very sad to say it but it was only a group of about 6 - 8 blokes who were running and still working deep into the last quarter.. and yes Nick Gill was one of them (the rest of the team could learn from this blokes work ethic and he could probably learn some skills from them!!)

Well done to Hawks, good luck next week to whoever you play - would be good to see how much damage you can do with a few fallen stars, but the grit and determination showed today says enough about a very good young list..

P.S. Buddy is the number 1 match winner in the comp... absolute star and has the makings of a champion, because champions stand up when they are needed and he did in his 1st final!!
Port Power has 16 years history at Football Park...

The Port Magpies have 40 years history and the two shall never be confused or combined

My predictions and tips have been way off all year but one side I did get right was the Crows. I had them 7th I think it was, competitive but not quite as dominant as previous seasons. To me this was a bit of no brainer due to the ruck situation that I've been boring you with nearly all year. However, I'm not sure where the improvement is going to come from for the Crows that is needed to maintain eighth spot on the ladder let alone improve.

Today with Roo on the bench and Burton being beaten the Blackbirds couldn't get a sausage roll for about 40 minutes (reminds me of the catering at AAMI Stadium). The Crows are still relying on the blokes that got them the silverware last decade. The rest of the league has moved on.

Shows just how important it is to have a champion key forward

Like the great forwards of the 80s and 90s (and before), they kick the clutch goal just when their team needs it. Just call him the Ice-man calmly slotting that from 60m on an angle with 10 seconds to go

totally agree, I certainly believe their is some improvement in the Adelaide list

Maric and Griffen, will be stronger and more confident next year

Van Berlo, Knights, Proplyzia and Douglas all have plenty of improvement and development left in their games

Gill will only get better, especially if he can get a pre-season under his belt, Bock is the same

Johncock, the Crows need to play Stiffy in a different role, free him up and let him take the game on

Drafting, the club needs another young midfielder, young Ebert will be on the Crows target, in addition, we need to find Talls with Mobility, Bock's mobility will improve when fit, Gill is outstanding in this area, however Perrie and McGregor struggle if the ball is brought to ground

Trading and De-listings

Firstly trades, both Meesen and Perrie will be traded, even though Kenny had a servicable game today, I would trade Kenny as I believe Richmond, WB or Freo will offer something very good in return, Mattner is another I would consider and also Massie, the reason I say Massie, both Massie and Torney play a similar style game and it's time to bring in a young defender like McIntyre, so I would trade Massie while you casn get some value. Hudson is another I would consider for a trade, as plenty of Melbourne clubs are searching for a ruckman

De-Listing's, the Crows need to find 3 players, Roo has obviously retired so their is one, unfortunately, Bode needs to come under serious consideration, his body is struggling and I have serious doubts in his ability to play a season injury free, Doughty, Hinge and Jericho will also be in the mix for a trade or de-listing

Pre-season, definitely focus on skills and decision making

My player to watch in 2008 - Tippett

Some people did say the crows would miss the 8
They were not far off
Those people bravely suggested a pre lim finalist of 2006 could were almost right.

Sorry Syd cant share your confidence
The 6 players you have listed still need to consolidate a spot in the team
Yep those guys can improve
BUT
The champs are all in the twilight of there careers
EDWARDS/MCLEOD/GOODWIN the backbone will be a year older and a year closer to retirement
And off course the ROO arguably the best Crows player of all time is retired

Half the crows list needs to be traded... all duds...

thompson, perrie, burton have to go

releasing johncock more? haha all he'll do is run into parked cars if he is released more, the **** should be on home detention!

actually the crows dont have to trade half their list... just get rid of neil cwaig aka elmur fudd... otherwise the crows might as well enter a team into the masters games for bike riding, because thats all he trains them to do

Proplyzia, Van Berlo and Knights have consolidated their spots and will improve again next year

My point on Griffen and Maric, hopefully they can put on some more muscle over the summer, this will bring added confidence

Douglas, next year needs to be his year and play majority of games for the Crows rather then the SANFL, Phiffier is another talented kid that needs to deliver next season

As a supporter, I am banking that our improvement will come from these 6 players, I see no reason's why it should not be the case

I thought Kenny was good today and also good against Geelong at Football park earlier in the season. He is strong, can kick reasonably straight and more importantly can haul in a mark. Many Crows fowards struggle to have the complete set.

While you do need to change your list (as does every club), you shouldn't be throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Be happy that Perrie will be gone though.
