7830 for Adelaide v Bulldogs AFLW match at Norwood Oval on the weekend, double the biggest SANFL crowd at Norwood Oval last year and you're not even close.

Didnt you say the crowds were down?

Unfortunately for the SANFL they don’t have the luxury of having the AFL cover all the admission costs

Correct weight, start charging $14 entry and they'll drop off quick smart.

Not sure its very smart for players to come out and say if you dont like it, don't watch it. Thought the afl would be doing everything to get more and more supporters.

Yeah, very strange approach.

"**** you, we don't need you" type approach.

Nina Morrison the number 1 draft pick has done her knee. the amount of ACL's in the womens game is crazy. their body just isnt made for AFL. I have read that when it is that time of the month the chances of an ACL is very high.

Neither are mens, but, women are 4 to 8 times more likely to injure their ACL than men.

Interesting stat, and I have no reason to doubt it. Netballers are constantly injuring ankles & knees however I had always put that down to the stop/start nature of the game. Is there some more science attached to this that you can share Boon?

Yeah Boon is right, I remember some uni was doing a study on netball and the rapid rate of knee injury a few years back. They had cameras close up on their knees as they played to closely watch the knee when under stress. Ironically & unfortunately they captured the close up on a girl doing her ACL :(

The "4 to 8 times" is an older article, more recent articles note "2 to 4 times" more likely, some note "2 to 10 times" so it would depend on the research subjects.

There certainly appears to be some correlation between ACL injuries and the menstrual cycle, but also simple anatomical differences between men and women and most certainly the sports where the injuries tend to occur.

I put that down to the sport rather than the womens physiology. Is there a physical reason (other than the obvious) as to why women are 4 to 8 times more likely to do an ACL?

Yes they are more likely do an ACL if menstruating during a netball game too.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.
