Week 1 of the FInals

West Coast Vs Port Adelaide

Even with the terrible record WCE have against Port at AAMI (when they had good and bad sides Booney) i think they might have a bit too much experience in the big games for Port. The inclusions of Judd, Embley and Selwood are massive inclusions and now the side has a rather onimous look about it. My way of thinking would be Steinglein to Chad, Selwood to Burgoyne, Kane Cornes to Cousins(Work Off each other) Hunter to Tredrae and Glass to Ebert. Who is going to play on Lynch? i think he is going to be the wildcard.. with Wakelin out they cant put Pate on him because he will get mauled so will be interesting to see. West Coast by 8 points in one of the games of the year..

Adelaide Vs Hawthorn

The last 4 times these two sides have played Adelaide has one by an average of 51 points, which is an excellent record. I think the experience of Adelaide from the previous two years of finals as well as they have no problem winning in Melbourne as they showed last week will get them over the line. The Matchups will be interesting in this one with the battle of the midfields the Key, Hodge, Mitchell, Crawford and Co Vs Goodwin, Edwards, Thompson and Knights. If the Crows can get on top through the middle and Contain Buddy (Who is going to get him?) then i think they will run out winners quite easily.

Sydney and Collingwood

This game i honestly did not who to pick.. Collingwood have beaten Sydney twice this year and both in excellent fashion with their young kids having to much Pace and Skill for Sydney. But i just cant go past Sydney in this game, with the inclusion of Hall and with side destroying the Hawks last week i think they will end Collingwoods season on the weekend.

Geelong and Kangaroos

I think the Roo's get Underrated far too much by the Football public, to be where they are is a magnificent effort, They have an All Australian Ruckmen (In My Eyes) a possible Brownlow Medalist and a batch of kids and mid age players who are playing out of their skins for Laidley, Unfortunatley i cant go past Geelong in this game, I think their Midfield will get on top with Bartel back to join his Mates in Corey, Ablett, Enright and Wojac and with Otten's to take it up to McIntosh. Even without Egan i think the Cats will win this game.

Nice work Pup. Instead of REB's Rubbish or NFC's Nuffys it might be time for Pups Poo next season.

I agree with your tips bar one. I reckon Collingwood can get up over a Sydney side that has only beaten one top eight side in the second half of the season. Their game plan is not adaptable enough and has fallen short twice against the Pies who are prepared to run harder than the Hawks were able to do last week. Goodes will get another zillion touches but it won't be enough as the Swans have lost a lot of half back line drive with the absence of Tadgh Kennelly.

Collingwood by 20.

REB

The ins for west coast are big names but how fit is Judd and embley they havent played alot of footy lately and sellwood is handy but not in the same ilk as the others. As for Lynch i would put thurstans on him he has been prety good down back all year and should do ok. I reckon port by 21 points

Embley will be fine, No Selwood is not in the same class but has a crucial role within their side. Judd is the big worry but he is playing so you can only assume he thinks he will get through.

I think Lynch will beat Thurstans but yeah you are right that is a decent match up, I can see Staker exposing Pate and also Hunter to run Tredrae ragged.

Should be a cracker, really looking forward to it.

Crows and Swans eliminated by the Hawks and Pies respectively, Eagles beaten by the Power

three experienced finals teams all lost to inexperienced finals teams

is finals experience over rated?

Sometimes us tipping experts over-analyse and make cases for teams while missing the obvious

HOF tipped all the top-seeded teams including the Cats + 3 teams playing interstate teams at home

Very sensible in hindsight, well played HOF
