Surely Finch knew it was his last chance.
Why wouldn’t he just go down swinging?
It’s the only way he knows.

Perhaps there is a third Marsh brother they can slip into the team for Sydney?

Yep, think that's him done and dusted from Test cricket forever now.

If they persist with him in the Sydney Test the selectors should be sacked also.

Don't really care who they play, even if they give a kid a go, but just make the change!

Agree re Burns, has to be him.

Selecting Finch to open the batting in test cricket is a classic case of setting someone up to fail. I don't blame Finch, I actually feel sorry for him. I blame the ridiculous decision at the selection table.

Is it worth trying Ferguson for another test in the middle order, Burns to the top?

I can’t feel sorry for someone who has been gifted a baggy green.

What would be their plan in this innings? Go hard for the runs and see how it goes, or play for the draw?

Finch and both Marsh boys should be planning their future, as it’s no longer in the baggy green.

They’d have a session by session plan.
India were content to draw this one and go bang in Sydney, they didn’t expect us to fold like we did.

With these blokes I doubt they have a plan.

Plenty of time left in the game. The plan should be just to bat. Simple. Just ******* bat. Then see where you are as the sessions tick over. If they are in striking distance by lunch on day 5, then look to up the tempo.

I agree, just asking the question because certainly looks like they’ve come out with a positive mindset so far, looking to play their shots.

He had 2 days to bat and to make a “hero” of himself. Just needed to get through the first 30 overs

Bumrah is bowling hand grenades, looks like getting a wicket nearly every ball.
