Shows how ****** up the VFL father-son system is. Blakey played 135 games for a club that is dead, Nick could have nominated Brisbane as his club of choice. Load of shit.

Blakey was in the unique situation as he qualified to nominate 3 clubs and ultimately chose Sydney.
You win some you lose some, Joe Daniher was eligible for Sydney and Essendon and thankfully chose us

Adelaide couldn't get anyone with a reputation in tact to hand their guernseys out?

I thought it was clever ploy by the Crows to get Burton out of the decision making room so he couldn't stuff things up in there.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Good work by the suns

Has been brilliant hasn't it.

Absolutely love it the amount of F**K you Gold Coast, Your an irrelevant club GC posts getting around on Facebook.

And the sheer collective arrogance in thinking they will walk back to SA in two years

Collective arrogance is a fair assessment, but the balance of probability doesn't exactly work in favour of the suns either haha

They just did a real good job last night

The Swans took the piss last night.

First off they give 26 to WCE in exchange for a future 3rd to save giving it up in the Blakey deal. They then match the bid for Blakey in what is pretty much legalised playstation trades (the points system is rubbish) and then basically reverse the trade they did with WC earlier by giving the Eagles a future 2nd in exchange for their 2018 2nd round pick.

Making the AFL look like absolute idiots. Good on them for trading and drafting so astutely.

saw a funny comment on facebook last night in regard to the swans dealings last night - "the swans were playing chess while the others were playing checkers"

No doubt the rules will be changed again next year to stop clubs from being smart...

I don't understand this.

Sydney had 26, 34, 38 and 39?
34, 38, 39 were enough points to match the bid for Blakey?

Why did they have to trade 26 out first if the 3 picks in the 30s were enough points?

How did you get him cheap if you had to match the points equal to a top 10 pick?
(Not having a go, genuinely don't understand the system).
