Re: Southern Football League
What is his background?
Brett Charlesworth stood down from his presidency at Flaggies AGM last night, what an amazing 16 years taking the club from battlers to where we are now, great to see huge numbers at the AGM and the vacant role being hotly contested with Neil Williams, another successful local businessman, talking over.

Good get, quality individual.
Best way to describe Boxhead is perseverance.
Had a few kicks in the teeth over his footy career but just kept on bouncing back. Very hard working. Resilient.
Has worked in the GFC junior programs and was an Reserves Assistant. HAs coached at edwardstown and most recently was Head Coach of the AUFC womens team.
He wont let outside noise distract him, will stay focused on his job.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Re: Southern Football League
Further to what am Bays said but much of his playing career was with the Bays. Probably around 100 games for the Bays but could have been a few less. Was nicknamed Boxhead because he bore a striking resemblance to the original Boxhead - David Grenvold.
On the topic of female Presidents - Sue Lerway was President or Morphettville Park for a few years in the 2000's.
Can't think of any others although that Christies Beach President can be a bit of an old woman at times!!!

Guy was also a quality A grader at Broadview, an assistant reserves coach at Sturt and is a focused individual. He’s a good get by the Valleys and works well with all members, players and committees. Quality appointment and well done by the Vikings.

New junior rules, goals only to be in place during official senior games and removed at all other times.banterfordays wrote:Whats the go with the missing goal post down at Valleys? Did Hughesy take it because they couldn't pay him enough or?![]()
Encourages focus on skills and fun without the pressure of scoring - which has been proven to be detrimental to their emotional development.

Re: Southern Football League
So who is the 6th leaving F & C, i can only count 5, Hughes, Walton, Ruddock, Smelt and Mitchell. Captain leaving is old news that was on the cards way back in early May when he was whining about his match payment not being what he thought he was worth

Could be more than 6 with rumours of Cox, Brown, Battafioco, Davis, Schurgott, Nicholson, Row and Maguire
At least there wouldnt be any dispute on who the best ruckman is at the club if they all leave....
