Probably wouldn't have been an issue if:
a) they'd told him they were coming over, or organised a time
b) the yard wasn't locked up, indicating it was clearly off limits

Communication is key. 8)

What if Booney had a big savage dog that attacked him when he broke in?
What if he injured himself trying to get into the property?
What if he had the wrong address and entered the wrong property?

I was (sort of ) expecting them today, my pool installer told me last week they were coming today but I had no contact from them to tell me when. My employer is very flexible, I can pop out / home any time I like so there would be no problem there. Getting a call from someone who has broken into my place, that's a problem!

Im just picturing the scene from Taken 2, where the kidnappers get the daughter and make the call etc as I read this...

Yesterday my son left a box of fundraising chocolates on the bus on his way home from school, hadn't even sold one yet, today he left his metrocard on the bus on his way to school, honestly, WTF do you do as a parent???????????

I rarely tell my kids off, they generally know what gets in my grill and avoid having to see the veins on the side of my head protrude, they know if I chuck in a swear word I mean business but this has just made me boil inside, sheer stupidity, I blame fortnite, I generally do for any act of vagueness.

How much are the chocolates worth?

I reckon mowing the lawn is worth about $10. ;)

$60.

Hopefully they're still on the bus next time he's able to catch it and the public have done an honesty system and they're all sold

My 8 year old broke the screen on her laptop from school because she carries it around with one hand when I tell her not too. School excess from insurance is $150 so this is exactly what I am doing...she is paying it off in $10 chore instalments.

Does he have a wallet or phone case? My phone case has the slots for the cards/ID in it, I just stick my metrocard in there and scan my phone as I get on.. people rarely forget their phones because they're on them most the time.

Yes, he does!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In 12 months he has left 2 metro cards, the chocolates, his phone and his wallet on public transport, the step son has done similar except the chocolates, we've got both phones back and the wallets. I'm not so confident with the chocolates.

At a rough guess, I doubt that they made it to the depot though.

And we pick on them apparently?

I know I'm clumsy so I'm extra careful, I tell the kids and misses to do the same but it falls on deaf ears, glasses right next to the edge of the table, phones on the arm rest of the couch etc. all disasters waiting to happen but I'm ridiculous? I'm the only one that doesn't break anything at home yet I'm the dickhead that pays for the replacements.

The missus is a complete wrecking ball.

She walks over to me one night and I had a glass of red near my foot, I reach down to protect it and she rips into me saying "Do you think I'm stupid or something? I could see it"
She sits down with me for like two minutes and then gets up in a hurry and then accidentally kicks it all the way across to the other side of the lounge room, the silence was deafening.

I get criticised by my wife for questioning everything whereas her default comment is "it will be fine". Very frustrating.
