April to late September/early October is the best time to visit Bali. January/February can be quite wet as it’s the rain season but temperatures will be around 28 degrees and I’ve been there several times in February and the rain has been hit or miss.
Cheers mate, looking for a more relaxing holiday as most of mine are always so full on... February is the best time for us to get away
As Wedgie said Thailand on the Western side is good and February is best for Vietnam and Cambodia aswell as the Western Malay islands. Langkawi and Penang especially are perfect that time of year

Nice.
Jimbaran Bay for sunset seafood dinner on the beach.
I'm sure many of us have used drivers in Bali that are helpful, but I suggest asking at reception for a local in your area who is based near you.
Just finishing a quick 4 day jaunt to Phuket. A couple of heavy showers but great weather for the most part. The influx of Russians increases every year we go back. Patong and Karon resemble Moscow ATM

Yeah we stayed in Karon back in August and definitely noticed it. Some are pretty good to look at though.

Yeah got a very cute one staying next pool villa to us who doesn’t mind strutting around the pool area. Lounged around our pool for most of Wednesday listening to trade radio and checking out the scenery [emoji3]

A lot of Russian signage and Russian speaking staff at tour agencies and restaurants aswell.
Chatting to some of the local shop owners, they said they prefer the Russians to Chinese,Indians and other Asians in general as they spend more $$.
Yep, was told the same. The downside is plenty of them are rude pigs and treat the locals like crap. A few we saw get very vocal and are quite intimidating

Our Karon resort had Russian party boat tours with Russian speaking guides departing from there. The resort manager spoke fluent Russian and she and all the staff got by on broken English.
The resort we stayed at in Khao Lak 3 years ago didn't accept Russians at all, if they inquired the resort told them they were full.

Yeah there are still a few resorts that do the same. The Police cleaned a heap out of Karon about 6 months ago that were involved in criminal activity and had “taken over” the beach with heavy handed tactics.

Now, if they could clear them out of Koh Samui as well.
