Talk on the national game

Crows supporters that can chant please read this

Postby Dogsbody » Sat Mar 11, 2006 10:00 pm

So its been confirmed that the Grand Final for the NAB Cup is ours to host.

Myself and U LEGS went to the game against Melbourne last night and got the ball rolling in regards to the acceptance of soccer supporter-style chanting. We got rounds of applause and cheers from a majority of the Crows cheer squad members... so we are going to try and continue with what we started, but we would love it if we had people that know how to make themselves heard.

Our idea is to buy a group of seats behind the Crows cheer squad and show them what a real cheer squad does. We'd arrange to meet at an Adelaide BASS outlet to make sure we get a section all together. This could be good practice for the State Game later this year.

If interested, leave a message here and stay tuned for more details.

Perhaps I sit behind you and show both groups how real football fans really barrack at a game, nah stuff it, its only a trial game. Certinaly nothing to start chants at.
Hopefully the Crows will do an Adelaide United (ie choke) but I doubt it.

I reckon you should change the title of this thread from "Crows supporters that can chant please read this"
to "Crows supporters that can read please chant this".
Much more entertaining. ;)

Crows supporters that know how to chant? No wonder this is such a short thread. I remember, more than once seeing a couple of Crows fans trying to start up a chant when the side really needed and being told to sit down and be quiet. FFS!!

We weren't told to sit down and shut up... anyways even if we were, we just turn around and say "What do you think this is, a tennis match?"

Can't chant at Cat Park like you can at Footy Park. Most Cat supporters would be worried about that grandstands colapsing due to the vibrations.

Quite right too Doggsy but I saws what I saws and I laughed and licked my paws. It was the only time that Geelong actually won at Girlee Stadium.

Hire a Crows jumper for the night? Is a seat on the Crows bandwagon a part of the price? Or is hiring a Crows jumper for the night enough to prove you're on it?

Just don't ask them any questions about football pre-1991. They'll tell you it doesn't exist. Long live the Adelaide Football Corporation.

The Adelaide FC have no fans, they have followers, like a religious sect, whom, with some luck, will suicide in some bizarre attempt to find out what football was like before the here-we-go's!

The biggest problem I had with going to AAMI for Crows games is that there's **** all atmosphere, you can find tonnes of that at the SANFL grounds. I'm looking to change that.

Port fans are really bitter that Adelaide got in first, aren't you? Diddums...

Since when did this turn into a slanging match anyway? :?

The problem you have,of the lack of atmosphere, can not be solved by a few people, even hundreds all chanting for the same team. When there is a Showdown, there is atmosphere,a bit of feeling between the two groups of fans. When it is Adelaide on their own, very few opposition fans attend, and are less likely to make some noise. This is where the atmosphere discipates, you need two to tango my friend.

I was, some time ago, bitter about the fact Adelaide entered the competition before Port, but, since our premiership success in 2004 all is forgotten,I couldnt care less how or when we got in.
