South Road isn't too bad at that time of the day but neither is Churchill then either so your pretty safe either way I would say

Avoid both. Go down Regency Rd to Arndale, then Kilkenny Rd, Port Rd, East Ave, Holbrooks Rd, Marion Rd, Airport Rd and voila.
I made a bad mistake of coming back via South Rd from Prospect the other day, took me 4 times as long to get home than what the same route took me to get there.

Avoid both. Go down Regency Rd to Arndale, then Kilkenny Rd, Port Rd, East Ave, Holbrooks Rd, Marion Rd, Airport Rd and voila.
I made a bad mistake of coming back via South Rd from Prospect the other day, took me 4 times as long to get home than what the same route took me to get there.

Don't mind that route although I'd substitute a little and get on Port Road via Rosetta, East Ave on to Holbrooks can be a bit hit or miss though.

That works too, involves a few side streets and I wasn't sure if you knew the area so substituted main roads, definately go that way, still the best. I made a big mistake by not taking that route which is my usual route thinking South Rd might be OK.
Mind you having said that as oer 99% of my delays from lane blockages there was no work being done, just witches hats laid out to stop an entire lane from use for no reason.

I'm well journeyed in the Adelaide metro area.

Have learnt that if I hang a left at "Morrell" just before Grange Road I can generally take a right then get on to Grange with another right with relative ease, that intersection rates with one of the worst in Adelaide IMO.
