Meanwhile, at the Gabba...

Postby Rik E Boy » Sun Sep 02, 2007 2:45 pm

...a young man in his first season and our best Tagger suited up for the Cats last night. And the player who looked like he was missed the most was the first year midfielder. Joel Selwood dived in and under and extracted the pill, a trait that was sadly missing in our eight second defeat to the second ranked side that displays all of our cracks apparently begin to open just in time for September. Selwood has proven to be a ready made midfielder and with Bartel to come back for next week all the pieces will be complete. For mine it will be Bartel and Rooke in for Varcoe and the unlucky Byrnes.

Bring it on!

Varcoe, I love his defensive pressure in the forward 50, a quality that is so so criticall for finals footy

The kid would be in my side

I reckon he lacks a little bit of poise under pressure still syd - would be fairly lucky to retain his spot for finals.

This season has set him up for the next 10 though, will be great to watch him mature.

Why would I do that? I'd rather play you than the Hawks.

Nope. Doesn't get the hard ball like the rest and doesn't get enough possessions. Has come on leaps and bounds and you're right about his defensive pressure but you've got to get it as well.
