Unless they can pull off a massive upset by beating the undefeated SPOCCOS they could end up finishing as low as 4th. (not impossible, it happened in 2 other grades on Saturday)
PHOS get the win over Salisbury North and Brighton play the bottom side.
PHOS have a poorer percentage and will only get 3 goals for the SN forfeit so third will be the more likely position for Broadies I reckon
Looks like Brighton will get 2nd spot, over 10 goals up against against Iggies, St. Peters 3 goals up over Broadies at the half
brighton sneak a little closer to div 1

I see Jacquier from Phos received a week suspension in round 17.
Will he miss this weekends first final? Or will the round 18 “victory” over Salisbury north count as that game?
Also I’ve heard fisher from Broadview was red carded Saturday.
Will he miss the crucial clash with the jets? Huge out if true

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 2 - 2018
Losing points only applies when a team can continue to participate. SN being removed means they lost their remaining 8 games which could have been as many as 16 points anyway. Bottom line, they finished 8th and if reaffilated in 2019 are entitled to take their spot in Div 2 subject to any concerns with the strength of their list. If they don’t stay in D2, GG will get the first right of staying in D2. That is how I understand it will work.

Yes downgraded to a yellow on the day apparently. I am lead to believe there was some good sportsmanship by SPOC who said there was not much in it and didn't deserve a red.

A Red Card cannot be downgraded on the day. Was downgraded on the Monday after video review.

Well done to Broadies for sticking with it.. early injuries cost us for sure on a warm day but to your credit you worked hard to get back in the game. Great final tho.. the result only being certain in the last 2 minutes. Good luck for the rest of the major round.

I'm just astonished he wasn't BOG every game he played.
Imagine someone of his quality (and at his age) running around in the C's and still going undefeated!

Well done to the Broady boys this year, great effort and recruiting, shame the rest of the sides left have just full on flog supporters and big headed footballers rubbing each other groins, PHOS are a just pass.
Come on the Phossers, knock those spuds off.

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 2 - 2018
Salisbury North back in next year
The Advertiser
IT’S game on again for Salisbury North Football Club. The club has received the news it will be welcomed back into the Adelaide Footy League after a meeting last week.
The Hawks were expelled from the 2018 competition following Alex Stengle’s five-match suspension for striking in an A-grade game against Unley Mercedes Jets in June.
At the time, the division two club had been on notice with the league following disciplinary problems in 2013.
The league has yet to finalise the conditions under which the club will be allowed to play next year.
But after last week’s meeting, Salisbury North code of conduct officer Jamie Russo said he could not be happier with the outcome.
Mr Russo said the club did not condone thuggery in any form.
He said everyone at the club — senior players, juniors, officials and spectators — would have to abide by the same set of rules.
“If they can’t then we don’t want them here,” Mr Russo said. “We intend to get on the front foot on this one.”
Mr Russo said the big issue now would be to get players back to the club.
When it was expelled from the league, Salisbury North released its players to let them go to other clubs.
“We allowed them to go and play elsewhere. We want them back,” Mr Russo said.
In a show of support for the club last week, Salisbury Mayor Gillian Aldridge, deputy mayor Linda Caruso and councillors Chad Buchanan and Julie Woodman met with club officials.
Ms Aldridge said afterwards it was important for the council to show it was listening to the club’s concerns.
“Not just for the players and officials, but for the mums and dads involved with the club,” Ms Aldridge said.
“They are there at the weekend helping out at the canteen, supporting their children — and you have to think of the morale of the young players, too, when something like this happens.
