WC will win by 15 goals and the Power will have to win by at least 13.

Power will be playing Eagles in Perth Next week.

Going on Essendons' previous interstate encounters, i thought that i was quite conservative in the 15 goal loss prediction but was pleasantly shocked by their fighting spirit after 1/2 time.
Power 7 - 7
Freo 1 - 2

Power WILL be playing Home next week.

PLayed Melbourne, Richmond and Carlton twice as well as the Freo C grade tonight, if that isnt a favourable draw to give you 2nd spot I dont know what is....even Daryl Wakelin admitted it tonight by saying "we have got some temas at the right times this year"...

GEEZ, the WEAGLES were impressive against the perrenial interstate easybeats tonight wernt they NOT.

Admittedly Geelong have been the best team over the season and deserve to be premiers but that doesn't always happen and the Power are certainly a genuine chance to steal a flag as the crows did in 97 - 98.

I dont think any team finishes 2nd by fluke, admittedly they have had a kind draw as it has turned out and met a few sides not at their strongest but fair dinkum youv'e got to give them some credit, to finish 2nd in their 2nd year of a 3 - 4 year rebuiling stage is truly a sensational achievement.

Just hope every Non-Power supporter Keeps Knocking them as it will only encourage them more to finish TOP TOP TOP.

Only 2 teams beat Geelong at Kardinia this season......that's right the Powwaaa and Dutchy I think you'll know the other!

The last meeting between Port and WCE finished:

Port 153 v WCE 62

That's a thumping of epic proportions.

Geelong also played non-finalists Bris, WB, Rich and Freo twice.

Biased or not, I believe the Powwaaa at very least will feature on the last day in Sept, and on our day, we'll beat whoever else manages to get there.

But keep writing the Powwaaa off lads!

Kangaroos have played Melbourne and Carlton twice as well. Dont hear you complaining about that though Dutchy.

You can only play who you are scheduled to play. You dont know how bad teams are gonna be at the start of the year, for the most part. Most people had Melbourne as a major threat this year.

In the end, weve performed this season to finish 2nd on the ladder at the end of the season. Considering noone would have picked that at all, its a pretty decent achievement with one of the youngest and most inexperienced lists in the league. Weve exceeded expectations so far and weve got ourselves two home finals to try and make something of the year.

THe Eagles are hardly all conquering this year. They were hardly convincing yesterday either. They almost lost after leading by 9 goals and pretty much single handedly cost themselves 2nd spot. They are missing a number of key playres and a couple more are playing injured. They are ripe for the taking.

But please continue to write us off. You, and everyone else, have done it all year. Best not to stop now.

Port are a real shot to make it IMO

This has been a season where no team has stamped their authority on second spot and you could throw a blanket easily over 2nd to 8th. Even the 8th placed Crows have beaten all teams in the 8 bar Geelong and West Coast.

So it's up for grabs and 2 home finals/double chance is a solid advantage to have when it's so even. That's why I was confident on the Eagles making it if they had managed to get second spot.

Interesting that it looked like the year of the comeback of the Victorian-based teams yet we again have 4 non-Victorian teams in the finals and 2 in the top 4. Geelong should make the GF, and prob win, at least tho. First Melbourne-based team since Essendon in 2000.
In between signatures .....

Hondo, I agree that this year it's even 2-8 and virtually any side could pop up and win the flag.

Good points too Macca, although I think we've got a lot more experience than people are giving us credit for:

Name Games
Boak, Travis 11
Brogan, Dean 98
Burgoyne, Peter 205
Burgoyne, Shaun 126
Cassisi, Domenic 104
Chaplin, Troy 39
Cornes, Chad 182
Cornes, Kane 137
Ebert, Brett 76
Krakouer, Nathan 11
Lade, Brendon 192
Logan, Tom 17
Lonie, Nathan 98
Mahoney, Josh 97
Motlop, Daniel 73
Pearce, Danyle 47
Pettigrew, Michael 53
Rodan, David 87
Salopek, Steven 60
Surjan, Jacob 44
Thomson, Adam 21
Thurstans, Toby 80
Tredrea, Warren 207
Wakelin, Darryl 259
Westhoff, Justin 13
White, Damon 49
Wilson, Michael (V+) 185

There's a good number of players with 50+ games experience without being too top heavy with old players. It's a young side, but Choco's brilliance in giving all these players so much game time over the last doule of years has paid a big dividend!
