5 weeks to go and Benny Rolfs has a handy advantage at the top of the scoring. Down the bottom Razorbacks were at one stage trailing really badly but they've upped their scoring while the geckoes and the Husseys have fallen away. The top eighteen represent Hogg Elite qualification but if we get 15 Premier League sides in there its probably no use running the league next year. So come on you lot catch up on those Premier League guns.

Hondo is a growing threat to Benny Rolfs who are having another solid season. Anyone coming back next season can possibly earn promotions with a good final score so plenty to play for even if you are spectators in the finals action next month.

Not too sure how much higher our top leagues can progress from here considering how most of the better sides share at least 15 players by now. Some of the middle leagues are on the march particularly Hogg I which underperformed for most of the early part of the season. Hogg IV got back to where they should be when they surpassed the Piglet Shield for the first time in many rounds.

A couple of weeks ago the Honey Badgers look like they had jumped the Sharks as Benny Rolfs and then Hondo slipped by them in the rankings. But after carding the all time Hogg record of 2830 in this week's Premier League Qualifying Final the Badgers are once again on top of the rankings. It is most unusual to see so many lead changes late in the season as by now the pecking order has been well established.

It is even more unusual to see changes at the bottom. A few weeks ago Razorbacks would have been at almost unbackable odds to take home the Mighty Eags trophy but wyc boy Callum and the Loose Husseys have challenged strongly for the honour with some spudderific supercoach form. Last week it was the geckoes who were flat out like a lizard drinking but this week it's the Husseys who have been a bit loose. Ladies and gentlemen we have a new leader in the mighty Eags.

The Honey Badgers are the King of the Hogg Shield in 2018 after topping the points table as well as winning the Hogg Premier League premiership this season. Hogg Premier League sides dominate the scoring although Mediocre at Best is the major challenger. It's no surprise that Mediocre barely dropped a match in Divvy I this season and that they too will be in the Premier League next season.

Non Premier sides on the rise include Division II premiers Roosters who have participated in Hogg Elite League in the past and the Hawkers who have had a blinder this season dropping only two matches on the way to winning the Hogg DivisIon IV title. Division I also produced some high scoring teams and it was Cowboys, Professor Crow and Wadey's Warriors who have joined the big boys in the Elite League next season.
