Stokes has the odd spell when he looks like an unbelievable bowler.

100 for 5 and then we drop virat and then pandya next ball, both absolute dollys. Sums us up as a test team.

Jimmy bowled incredibly well for no wickets.

Hope it continues, will be an absolute travesty if that plonker surpasses McGrath, if McGrath was English and wasnt competing with Warne he wouldve taken 800 Test wickets

What a knock by Kohli, what a great test match so far, wish there were more of these type of pitches where there is enough in it for the bowlers and class batsmen can still make runs.

Almost time to claim the pension booster from Essex County Cricket Club. FFS Marcus Trescothick is still churning out runs in his 40's!

Shami doesn't get a lot of plaudits but is a very effective bowler, nippy enough and moves it both ways. An average of mid 28 proves his worth, especially when comparing it to an erratic bowler like Sharma.

England 7/131, lead by 144 as bad light stops play. Curran 30 not out, England's savior at the moment.

Fantastic days cricket

England tail put on some valuable runs and then the bowlers did the job and ran through most the top order of India.

I say most as Kohli is still there, get him out early tomorrow one would think England will run through the rest quickly and win.

First 10 overs will show why test cricket is always better than coloured clothing tee-ball.

How good was Stokes bowling, must admit I never thought he could bowl hand grenades like that, he won that test for the poms.

Its time for Australia to start using the Duke ball, makes for great test cricket.

Definitely showed his worth, has that ability to take games away from the opposition in a session with the bat and bowl the team to victory. Might be inconsistent at times but you'd rather him in the team than out of it. Probably the best fieldsman in the team aswell.

He will miss the second test due to his count appearance that started yesterday. Dawid Malan was also dropped, Surrey batsman Ollie Pope will replace him in the squad as Chris Woakes returns to replace Stokes.

Stokes is inconsistent but hes so vital to the structure of this team. His bowling average since coming back is 22, problem is his batting which was coming along very nicely prior to the incident is 22 also. Once he gets both going at the same time then we have a serious player. We will seriously miss him at lords, Woakes just isn't close to being stokes as we saw in the ashes.

It appears from early testimony that Stokes instigated the incident.
