Sorry to hear that mate, I hope it's still treatable and she beats it.
I went through the same with my mum 15 years ago and she's still going strong so I hope the same happens to your mum.

Thanks for the support guys. We may give each other the wind up from time to time & take the pi55 (I am guilty as anyone) buts its great to know this little online community is here to help us get through stuff like this.

Spoke to mum earlier today, and she was in reasonable spirits given the circumstances.

Its also very early days in regards to situation, and how far advanced, or otherwise this thing is. Not sure if surgery is an option, chemo etc etc.

My son gets married in about 12 months time, and she WANTS to be there. I think its important for her to set those mental type goals.

There are two options - give up or fight. I am pleased she wants to fight.

All the best CM, I just lost my mother in law to cancer, but she was given 3-4 months 9 years ago, was determined to see her son get married which she easily achieved and then saw his 3 girls come into the world, having goals to look forward to which allows a positive frame of mind is critical to beat or at least delay it IMO.

Cancer is a horrible **** that affects everyone. You either have it or know someone who did. It cares not for age, sex or lifestyle.
It took my father, my father-in-law and our daughter. It leaves a hole that can’t be filled and kids without a parent.
And anyone who says “time heals all” has no ******* idea, because it doesn’t.

What is sad is that the murder rate in London is now higher than in New York. So far 55 murders this year with another 3 kids stabbed last night. Knives crime has gone through the roof, with gangs challenging each other on ‘social media’. FFS, it’s a lot of things but social it isn’t.

Everything and everyone other than the parents is being blamed for the escalation, from the the Government to council cutbacks to lack of policing to bloody Brexit. But when an 11 year old stabs a 15 year old in the street at 1:30 in the morning someone has to wonder what the hell the parents are doing.

Edit, 6 more stabbings tonight in 4 separate incidents.

Amen to that, I've tried to write something on here at least 10 times to give CM some support but have pretty much had my heart ripped out every time I've gone to write.

I kiss my dad every day, I have no one to turn to when things turn to shit, I just battle on and hope tomorrow is a better day.
