if Geelong didn't stuff around with it at the end there in defence they would have won that game

HONDO - i actually backed port at the $4.30 and im a cats fan

having seen the second half, i will be quite happy if geelong can play port in a finals, because the result will certainly be a lot different to the one today.

Jackpot Jim on the Betting Forum made a heap of money!

Had Port to be the first to 25pts at $3.30 and had money on Port be in front at every break at $12.00.

Ya reckon?
Geelong are only playing like they did last year, not like they do this year with Bartel, Ling, Selwood.

A cop out if ever heard.

Geelong used the 'general soreness' to keep Selwood out,a sign they decided to give the young body of his a rest, could be seen as arrogance thinking 'we dont need him, give him a rest'.Either way,'general soreness' is a smoke screen.

Ling would have played if it was a final,Geelong decided the risk was not worth it,that's fine, but cant be used as an excuse. As I said earlier you can only beat who you play.

This win gives Port Adelaide the true belief they can beat anyone, the belief required to go all the way.

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Looks like the gap bwtween the best and the rest isnt that big!

Cop out?

That's a bit harsh mate, admittedly I was wrong in my tips as I didn't realise the players Geelong would rest but I did quite clearly state:

Geelong supporters will be celebrating harder than Port supporters tonight as for the first time in my life time Im now confident Geelong will win the flag! :D

Little bit of emotion running above there TM.

Cats fans will use the no 'Ling,Bartel,Selwood' line, and so they can.I can dwell on that,or look at the positives for my team,of which there are many.

K.Cornes-another cracker from the best stopper in the game,Corey had some telling touches in the last half, but there is no doubt Cornes won the battle.

Chaplin-Took a huge step in his preogress in the last two weeks.Kept Franklin down last week and was the go to when Wakelin went of hurt,Mooney ending up being benched and Chaplin taking 3 or 4 big marks in the last stanza.

S.Burgoyne-Roved 2 taps and goaled inside 50,give me 18-20 touches from him and he will destroy you with 4 or 5.

Surjan-Although Chapman did some good things near the end,Surj did enough around the middle and the stoppages for me.He is one hard nut and is a gun in the making for our centre set up.

Ebert,Motlop,Tredrea,Westhoff,Rodan all show enough to suggest we can kick winning scores.

Final thought? We are now the 'best of the rest'.Still some ground to cover, and a few big 'outs' Geelong, but for two weeks in a row I AM PUMPED!!!!!

After all the moaning by the swampies about Motlops "non" mark against Hawthorn, they should be thanking the maggots for the Mooneys "non" mark in that last 5 mins! Geelong have had the "loss we had to have" and as embarassing as it is to lose to the wharfies, 4 in a row for the flag!

Mate no excuses, we left 3 players our but except for Playfair every player that replaced those would walk into anyone else's starting line ups.

I think Port have been fantastic this year with a young side, definately exceeded most people's thoughts on where they'd come and I thought the way some of their lesser lights stood up today was great.

But similar to Port when they were at their heyday in the SANFL Im looking at the grander scheme of things like I did prior to the game and I think its a fantastic result for the Cats.

Only excuse I might have come up with prior to the game is that I prefer Geelong on a wider ground like the Doom or the MCG but that excuse was wiped out as watching the game I thought the wider ground might have actually assisted Port more today and would have ensured a bigger win to the Power.

I also continue to be very proud of the way Daniel Motlop plays week in week out and even though I've been a critic of Choko I give full marks for him in showing confidence in Daniel and Daniel has repaid that, I love Danny, he's a great footy player.

I just hope the Power get up in their home final now.

No denying a loss at this point is better for Geelong than a loss in a Prelim Final.

There is also no denying Port Adelaide do have what it takes to match it with the Cats. Our record at the G is a good one,and I am not saying I want to play Geelong come finals, but if you are to win this years flag you are going to have to beat Geelong at some stage. On todays effort,we can do that.
