He's such a flog, I can't stand him. I've said it before, I would love to know if he believes some of the things he says in regards to selection.amber_fluid wrote:heater31 wrote:Hohns is just backpedaling to save his arse......amber_fluid wrote:Trevor Hohns really is an arrogant prick isn't he!
See his response to Chad Sayers for not contacting him about his non selection.

Classic bullshit management response - oh he could have come to speak to me if he was feeling that way. Well it’s also your job to manage the players and it wouldn’t have been hard for a 2 second phone call - or even a text.

One way to fix this issue would be for all First Class players not selected for international touring squads ring him for an explanation......he would change his policy quick smarttigerpie wrote:Senile old bastard should be thrown out for such unprofessional responses to questions asked.

Not sure it's an up yours to Hohns.
Hohns has picked him. Said that he was behind Bird fractionally and this shows that he was. Hasn't held a grudge about Sayers' media comments.
Will Sayers room with Jhye Richardson?
Wish he'd just shut his mouth. Whether he had a point or not, it reflected badly on him.

It does make Hohns look like the good guy here unfortunately.
Basically Sayers will only play if Hazlewood was to be injured, unfortunately he is the most durable of our 3 pacemen, I can see why Richardson got the nod now.

Renshaw with 170 today. Get him over there to take Bancroft’s spot!

The only player I can remember to be dropped on Shield form. Goes to show you have to be on your game all the time if you want to be an international professional cricketer. Hopefully he gets an opportunity again soon as he has a Test match temperament and the skill to go with it. Plus he can catch in slips.

I have no doubt he will be our opening batsman in the future. His ability to bat time is still underrated.Aerie wrote:The Dark Knight wrote:Good to see him finally get a big score after a rough patch.Aerie wrote:Renshaw with 170 today. Get him over there to take Bancroft’s spot!

Re: Australian Tour of South Africa
Didn't realise Chad Sayers was a regular at the pub I work at till I met his father in law in the weekend!
He rang Chad from the Front Bar so everyone could have a chat to him from South Africa, it was quite surreal as the connection was clearer than when I ring the next door neighbour!
He said the side is currently confined to their hotel as its too dangerous to walk the streets, I got the impression the rest of the squad weren't going out of their way to make him feel welcome in the team too. He's hoping to get a game in the tour match.

That would not surprise, as the Aussie team is essentially the most exclusive boys club there is in this country. There may be a few blokes looking over their shoulder. I reckon if you grab your chance, if & when it presents you would get accepted into the fold though.
1961, 1971, 1976, 1978, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2015.... And don't you forget it!

Throw in the fact from what I'm led to believe is the red backs are one of the least liked sides in the shield (not that there is anything wrong with that) but have heard two players from different states say the same thing.
