Instead of just shit?
I tuned in for a fair portion of the Hottest 100 on Saturday, what a ******* load of shit that was. Absolute shit. I guess if you ride a fixed wheel bike to your local organic coffee place while stroking balm through your beard you'd like it, well, pretend to anyway.
Then on Sunday Double J replayed the '97 Hottest 100....thankfully that reinstated some faith.
There's a big difference between good shit and just shit, me thinks.
On that topic, what the **** happened to rock & alternative music that had balls to it?
What passes as rock/alternative/indie music these days is very safe, vanilla and limp-wristed.
Shit, even the Foo Fighters became a watered down, dad-rock version of themselves. I remember seeing them in 1998 (IIRC), and they had
balls.
As much as I've heard they still put on a good show, I wouldn't dream of seeing them unless they only played songs from the first two albums.
Obviously, I am just using Grohl and Co. as an example, but they're not the only rock band to have gone down this path. Pearl Jam is another example.
