Yeah it was bloody good.

What topping?

I had pepper gravy in a jug coz I didn’t know what the combo would taste like.
Didn’t need much of it coz it was so tender

Hmmm, good mixture.

Sure have, it goes on every burger or steak sandwich that gets made in our house.

Mrs and Miss put it on their chips, Junior on anything...

Same with us now, it is the bomb.

Does it taste like the maccas one?
Or can you tell the difference?

It is identical, I made a heap of salad rolls for my daughters cricket and everyone picked it straight away,

Yes it’s nothing flash but a good old school pub.

I had the calamari snitzel last time I was there.

Never had it before anywhere but it was great.

Is that a whole schnitzel made only from calamari?

Yep, done right, they're majestic.
I prefer a good Snid Squitzel........ [emoji6]

If in the Clare region I definitely highly recommend:

-Shut the Gate Winery (more just platters and wines rather than meals but absolutely amazing place)
-Sevenhill Hotel
-Paulettes Winery
-Mr Micks
-Olive Green Bus
-Terrior Auburn
-Indii (its an indian restaurant, I wouldn't make the trip to Clare for it but if your in the area and feel like curry its a good shout)
-Caltex Petrol Station Curry (same standard as Indii)

Definitley avoid
-Bentleys Hotel
-Middle Pub
-Blyth Hotel
-Taminga Hotel

Everyone in Clare raves about 'Seed' but I honestly didn't like it all but I'm on my own there.

Amici Pizza Cafe - Frederick Road, Grange

Popped in with the good lady wife and another couple.

It's main business seems to be take-away pizza, there is however seating for 40 or so inside and a dozen or so outside, 7pm last night outside was perfect with the shade blinds down.

Bruschetta entree, two nice big pieces of thick cut loaf, plenty of topping and fresh as can be. Excellent.

For mains Mrs Boon went the lasagna, made in house it was about 8 layers high, a good sized slab of it too. The couple with us shared a calzone filled with the "House special", basically everything you can think of as far as pizza toppings go.

I went a small seafood pizza, prawns, mussels, anchovies and some fresh basil. Thoroughly enjoyed it, salty hairy little beasts were thick, the mussels fresh and the prawns real and chunky.

Couple of Peroni's with it, mate had a couple of Super Dry's, cokes for the girls and the total a touch over $110 for about $30 per person.

Might be a touch on the expensive side but we all agreed we'll be back to try some of the other dishes on offer, such was our satisfaction with the meals we had.

Amici, again one day soon.

8/10. Give it a go if you're in the area.

Would be a good spot if you wanted to get together with 15+ people either inside or outside.

Owned by the same family who own The Southern and Gawler Arms. It certainly caters for a certain market.
I've spent a fair bit of time drinking with the owner over the years and he knows how to make money. Very astute.

i find it relatively expensive and borderline quality.

but not too expensive or too low a quality to not go back there again.

so yep he is probably maxing out the profit on those places

The one opposite steinberner ford in Clare

Owned by an amazing Indian family which has a bain- Marie of some of the nicest curry you will ever have.

Slightly expensive considering it's a petrol station but is great

Plus the kids indoor playground wins a huge market in 'parents who want to take kids out but not actually watch their kids'

Very astute businessmen

But same as you Benny I have had nothing but very standard to ordinary food from there
