Bit of a loss for the Farmers........Kid goes alright

In all honesty, I have never seen a player lay more effective smothers per game in all my life.
He certainly needs to train more often though, long way from where the skirt resides.
Will be interesting to see if he can step up to Div 2.

Lays heaps of effective smothers but is a skirt?

I'm not quite getting that? In my day, it was considered ballsy if you had good tackling or smothering attributes.

By 'the skirt' I'm assuming he means a female companion of some kind mate?

Ahhhh, cheers Pag, I was assuming he was referring to the player being a skirt, not sure I've ever played for a club based on where my partner at the time resides.

On a side note, do you know who's coaching the under 16 girls out your way?

This might sound harsh, but i'm not overly concerned to be honest.

Had a good season this year in patches, tough as nails and isn't afraid to put his body on the line, but to be frank I thought there were better genuine backs in the club.

His first real good season of A grade footy, came third in the B&F but it's one good year.

I think he cost the side games this year. Wasn't willing to play a true backman role - stop your opponent from kicking goals - and I even brought this up during the season. Was happy to try and play loose and run off forward as if he was a rebounding HBF when he was really a BP. Spagnolo (TOS) kicked 4 goals in the last quarter on him in Rd 3 and Trinity won, simply because he refused to go near him, Currie (PUL) kicked 5 on him in Rd 6 and Perry (TOS) 5 goals in Rd 12 - that's just off the top of my head.

He wasn't seen on the track a great deal over the season, particularly the colder months because work commitments (drives delivery trucks), which didn't impact his fitness levels at all he's pretty fit, but his disposal is poor and his decision making needs a lot of work.

Good D6 player. Skills and decision making lets him down as does training effort. I will be very surprised if he plays A’s at GG and if he does I will venture to say GG won’t make the 5 in D2 because they will be struggling

Rumour is not happy with a few decisions at the club and he wants a change! not much of one though coach at Kangy coached at Kenilworth a few years back and has now taken approx. 10 players in the last couple of years so could be named Kangarilla/Kenilworth Kangaburras

A Liverton is an out aswell for Kenilworth
Kenilworth Hills Football League SA Liverton, Andrew Pending 28/11/2017

These 2 should go well in Hills Div2! Kangy may even finish third bottom in 2018 now. Maybe!

Makes me chuckle.
Training - major issue, agreed, no friggn orphan there, if he gets to training twice a week next year he will improve no end on top of what has been on show, compliment that with bigger, stronger, smarter, fitter backmen around him.
He's only 23 or 4 I think.
2016 played 12 games and was the most missed player come the sticky end of the season, think back who filled his roll through injury, diabolical.
As for the TOS example, bugger me, ask Micky Martin what it's like to have no control of mongrel kicks that come into the forward line, G.Abblett was gifted one to knock out the Roos, Spag bloody Nolo was gifted 4.
Anywhere from Div 3 below with a pre season and constant training he's the first bloke picked in my book, Div 2 will be a challenge.
As usual time will tell.

I stood at that end during the last quarter - I watched him time and time again look over his shoulder to Spagnolo and see him free and still run off up the ground towards the contest only to have the ball sail over his head and Spagnolo walk into an open goal square.

Granted he wasn't alone that day, and several others in the back 6 were quite poor and should've assisted more.

I also think he was better in 2016 than 2017 - might sound weird given he finished top 3 in the B&F this year, but in 2016 he was more disciplined and player more as a proper backman. Hancock won the B&F in 2016 playing unaccountable football off a back flank. The same style of footy Phillis appeared to adopt this year.

Regardless good luck to him, I don't wish him any misfortune - he's come a long way from running around in my C grade only 4yrs ago - if he commits then i'm sure he can better himself no matter what.

Pete is a ripping bloke mate as you know. 3 x Premiership player but more often than not if you will play senior footy at least at 2 clubs. He is welcome back with open arms at any stage if he and any of the blokes up there ever decide to come back.
