the whole point was to ban offshore sites

which, even though i have played nearly a million hands of online poker, i actually agree with. offshore sites arent beholden to australian law and could steal your money - it has happened multiple times in the online poker world.

what should happen but hasnt is regulation - it has happened for sports betting sites but needs to happen for poker too

It's all about legal wording I think mate. Ned's won't even discuss promotional joining offers with you as an SA resident until you've opened an account, not too dissimilar to Laddies. There must be some form of anti-enticement laws in some states, or the local TAB buys certain rights, but the bookies can get around it with specific procedures.

CrownBet back to including SA customers in the promos again? They lost me when they excluded us - without adequate warning - for the state tax introduced without us punters having any say in it.

They told me flatly a few months back that SA residents no longer eligible for any of their promos. I know a few who got caught out with the "points pileup" thinking they'd collected well on reward points only to receive nada
