Hinkley will speak publicly in a radio interview on Adelaide radio station FiveAA at 4.30pm ACST.

No, and the AFL can expect a few calls from Keith Thomas.

Kochie has put his foot in it one time too many, you need a supportive President/Chairman, not someone who has his own agenda.

You wonder if him being there will put a few potential applicants off.

No

Cheers... But if Port sign Hinkley for another couple seasons then sack him end of 2018 they would still have to pay out his contract?

Correct. If he walks no pay, if he is pushed out in contract, club pays.

The more information being, "will Hinkley take the job? Will I be able to coach a club that's in a far better position?"

Interesting questions.

It is an interesting question and one I hadn't pondered. I think Hinkley is a pretty astute judge of the game, obviously Port Adelaide, the Suns and the AFL agree, so if that's the case how does he take the Suns job over the Port job?

Id say there is about a 10% chance of the interview going ahead, unless he re-signs with Port today.

Koch has one agenda, to make Port Adelaide the best it can be, that's indisputable. Is his method perfect, it's probably not, but don't question his motives.

Agreed, if he's staying he chats to them, if he's gone he doesn't.

Can you believe that Ken Hinkley's win/loss percentage is higher than what Mark Williams was?

Correct. If he walks no pay, if he is pushed out in contract, club pays.

In that case, thinking long term - would Port be asking themselves if it's worth the gamble of locking him in until 2020 and potentially facing paying him out if he doesn't last? Do they think he's the guy to go one another 3+ seasons?

If the answer is no, then I reckon they let him walk and invest in getting Dew.

If Port ended it, there would be a severance deal put in place, depends on the specifics but it's often a % of the remaining term.

If Hinkley ended it, nope.

Yes, Williams had those very lean years towards the end of his time at Pt Adel, that would've smashed his %

Definitely serious

Why would Hinkley stay at a club whose chairman publicly undermines him and his selection policies minutes after a heartbreaking loss.

For a man who prides himself on his business acumen trusts either mindblowingly stupid, or maybe it was designed to push him out?

I can't believe I'm agreeing with Benny

Koch just needs to let the footy department be the footy department, look at how united the Western Bulldogs President and Beveridge were last year.

Unfortunately for Koch he's so passionate any of his reasoned thinking goes out the window and the boy from Largs with Port Adelaide in his veins takes over.

Do you think that sort of public comment would be acceptable in a business setting?

And if not why is it appropriate here when Koch's role is purely on the corporate side and not a football role?

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I think Ken's tenure at Port has benefited both parties and has probably become a little stagnant.

He burst on to the scene and IMO made Port better than what they actually were, with that came expectation which the group couldn't live up to consistently, their best form is outstanding and their worst is dreadful.

Best win for mine was the win over the Hawks last year for memory when they came out and blew them out of the water in the first term.
Worst loss was against the Bombers this season.
