I am more likely to wear a cap to a night game than day game!

During the afternoon, members wing, sun is behind, the stand, no issue.
At night need the cap to block the light towers.

Also, as someone going bald at a rate of knots, the cap is handy for keeping the head warm!
As I said, wear a cap at a night game = galah. You're a galah so the shoe fits.

If your head is cold, wear a beanie.

I introduced a rule last year as coach. Anyone found in sneans it was an instant $2 fine.

What about Vans, are they sneans?

I'm drafting a "Football fan code of acceptable apparel" and want to get it right.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Are Vans sneakers? No.

Therefore they're more than acceptable. I'd even say advisable.

In the right colour though. And never slip ons.

So let me get this right..

You expect a dress standard to be applied to spectators attending AFL games, but player dress standards at the club you play drives you nuts? :?

I don't expect anything, just think some clothes suit your age profile and look good and others don't.

Our dress code this year was black slacks, which as per morell's myths is ridiculous, for many reasons.

This is why the claims of being elitist are hilarious.

You'd look better in a $20 cotton on hoody than $120 official AFL merch.

As for the mooks claiming I am elitist for perhaps expecting people use a bit of logic and nous when dressing themselves in public, here are some morell facts for ya:

1. I was raised in a tiny country NZ town of 400 people where we used to warm our feet in cow shit in the mornings
2. After moving to Australia, we lived in a caravan for a few years. All 6 of us. Literal white trash.
3. I was mostly raised by a single Mum, the youngest of 4 boys. We were dirt poor.
4. Spent my youth in housing trust Clovelly Park / Mitchell Park
5. Went to povvo Daws Road High and then UniSA on the public purse

Having a bit of pride in the way you look and dress has nothing to do with your social standing.

But whatever, I am enjoying the hysteria of a thousand middle aged men questioning if they "still have it".

Me, I was brought up in a manger, single Mum, never met my Dad, although Mum bangs on about him always being there watching us.
