Getting my results back the other day from our annual pay reviews.

Apparently I was at the higher end of the scale with a 1.7 % increase.

I had 1 sick day for the year (a pre-arranged dental visit), had to cover half of someone's work who was on maternity leave for nearly six months of it and doing it again now as well as doing my own job, I'm ranked #1 nationally at my role in comparison to our other plants and saved them over $700K for the year with a PIP I introduced.

Resumé updated and active.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Go in and ask for more money and show them why you think you deserve it, and make it hard for them to say now.

Yep, did after last years review, the GM and my own manager sat me down and went through all the extra work that I do and all my KPI's and then re-submitted to HO only to be knocked on the head.

I've asked if I can work in the factory on weekends to get some extra coin but HO said no as I'm on salary and it opens up a dangerous can of worms for other employees that work more than the standard 7.5 hours per day that we get paid for, I could understand that but I'm sure they could find ways, I spent years in the factory doing many different roles before coming into the office so it would be more beneficial to have skilled worker opposed to someone green and requiring training.

I'm not asking again this year, it is crap, I'm very loyal to them and need to assert my ire in other forms.

Just kidding mate. Im the same.

I did get a $5k pay rise out of the blue last week. Apparently it was being tossed around for a while.

It did feel better for the owner to give it to me without asking. Makes me feel more needed than if I went in there demanding it.

It sure does, I got a $10K increase about 8 years ago and we used to get shit loads of gift cards.

I think I'm more pissed that the missus is our major bread winner :(

Funny story.

Mrs HH3 just got a major promotion within her company, which would have put her about $2k a year over me. There were lots of
"who wears the pants now" and "who's the bread winner now" jokes flowing from her for a couple of weeks.

Then I came home with a shit eating grin and told her.

All she said was "You couldn't let me f**kin have it, could you?"

Ha, I haven't had it thrown in my face, we're very even in that department but I reckon she just gets the nudge on me, hopefully the one I think I've got my best chance with comes into fruition.

At the end of the day, we have a roof over our heads, a happy house and we're comfortable, they say you can't buy happiness but I've never met a miserable millionaire.

Sounds like you need more leverage, like a job offer from elsewhere.

I asked for a payrise recently. Boss has been all over the country so I undestand he may not have had a chance to look at it.
And Im due for an increase. 2 yrs at the same wage when there have been CPI increases.....
But the flip side is I get a work vehicle. My own personal car has travelled around 7000kms in the past 11.5 months with the main trip being to Clare..

You always seem quite happy with what you do, I generally am but I've been taken for a ride recently.

Out of 180 people there is not one person on site that knows how to even do part of my role, we have one that can get away with a few days in the chair and he's hon 3 weeks break atm, another does ok at it and he's on salary continuance with a f***** back for God knows how long and another who is of the same level who is on maternity leave until January, meanwhile I'm doing my role, her role and our supervisors role while she's on leave too.
