I loved the Hawks prelim, I was at the game on a footy trip. I still love Buddy for that game alone :lol:

Although I've got my GF Saturday, Sponsors Sunday, Mad Monday, Balaklava Cup Wednesday and Paskaville field day Thursday so I'm not sure when I'll return to work! Lol.

I guess I might pop in Tuesday.

I was in the Yorketown pub on a pre season cricket trip. Interesting clientele to put it mildly.

is it just me, or are they using a double negative in the add? Business pessimism has dropped to minus 40%..... so has it become optimism??

Is there such thing as -40%?

I get if it's 60% it can drop BY 40%.....not sure it can BE -40%.

Thats like you can never give 110%.

without knowing for sure, my guess is 0% = balanced between positive and negative

so therefore it can drop to -40% if it now means confidence is strongly negative

Wouldn't 40% be a negative, because there's 60% that are not confident?

once again i havent actually seen the ad

but i could see a scale something like this -100% means everyone is looking to leave SA for somewhere else

0% means there is a balance

+100% means everyone is looking to come into SA

that is just as valid a scale as 0-100%, plenty of ways you can display the same set of data - if explained clearly, positive numbers are optimistic and negative are pessimistic which is more readily digestable than 0-50 as pessimistic and 50-100 as optimistic. but both are valid ways of displaying the data if you define it correctly.

but i agree that it is rarely explained clearly enough.
