But even if they get relegated. They are the side that's spent the longest time without relegation. By a fair way as well.
As for James Hay. He didn't call the umpire a cheat. SN were crucified.
A TTG player punched a SN player and James told the umpire
"If that was f***en us you would red carded us" And the umpire took that as calling a cheat and red carded him.

I hope the team shows a little more respect towards SPOC that you do. Salisbury North are entitled to be favourites, but SPOC have been knocking on the door for a win and are more than capable of causing an upset.

yep. And went in after the game and apologised personally as well.

A little precious IMO, a 50m penalty and yellow card would seem apt, there's plenty of swearing that goes on in a footy game, if it's only between the player and myself when I'm umpiring and not yelled out for kids to hear then it can be sorted then and there,
I played the game enough to know how frustrating it can be so I generally give a little back if I cop it, play on after that.

I'm with Q here. If you swear at an umpire and suggest he is umpiring the game differently from one team to the other, I wouldn't expect him to want to be your mate either.
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

I'm looking forward to find out where you umpire.....
He wasn't called a cheat, he was given an example.
Given that the umpire would've been aware of the repercussions of the report and if he was in no way spoken to in a threatening manner then I think it could've been handled differently.
I generally get along well with the players I umpire and can accept some criticism out there, I'll discuss my opinion with them once the play is handed over and if we're near each other.

Giving it back isn't a case of entering a slanging match, it's more a of a quick explanation of my decision and a "you worry about what you're doing and I'll worry about my job". I sort of commentate as I'm umpiring so the players see what my perception is on each contest is.

I guess it's the difference between metro and country footy.

He wasn't called a cheat, he was given an example. YOU ARE 100% INCORRECT - was called a F&cking cheat!
Given that the umpire would've been aware of the repercussions of the report and if he was in no way spoken to in a threatening manner then I think it could've been handled differently. Umpire abuse is umpire abuse - simple. You dont know the full facts - but that is something you seem to overlook?

The best umpires go un-noticed.
Such a general statement - ignoring abuse is not acceptable

i agree with that. Don't give the ump a chance to red card you. But its abbot soft

of coarse they would. It's my person opinion that SN will smoke them Twice. Unless a lot of players ask for a clearance before June 30
If SN don't manage to survive relegation, I feel sorry for some of the clubs in Div 2 who would've fancied themselves as contenders for the flag next year. Will be two unlucky years in a row for that competition..

Nah, SN coming down won't change anything. Brighton are winning the 2018 Div 2 flag.

Haha, without injury salisbury north are a top 5 div 1 team! The difference between div 1 and 2 is massive let alone div 3 standard. Im also pretty sure the hawks have played brighton in a couple of trials over the last 3 or 4 years and brighton hasnt got within 15 goals.
How many of those current SN players will stick around to play Div 2 footy? On the other hand, Brighton will continue to recruit as they climb the grades.
I asked Morell, he recons they are $1.08 to win it.

If the worst did happen and SN were relegated, how hard would it be to keep everyone around?
Don't shoot this messenger because it could be completely false but I have heard whispers that Joey Hay may be hanging up the boots at the end of the season? He's great to watch and one of the genuine nice guys of the league. I hope it's not true...
