Mate, you havn't "ruined" a game that I'm aware of.
A long way from doing so.

Yeah, going to be a cracker, two teams that love to help me out there too.

Had this game last season and it was very intense til half way through the last, it's funny how everyone wants the whistle put away until it gets close and then they want everything picked up.

Good luck tomorrow, I'm sure they'll make you earn the win.

Absolutely. The way we played last week, this is also a 50/50 game.
We aren't entitled to it that's for sure.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

How, has the premiership been won already?

Losing to three sides above you on the ladder with the no.1 rated defence in my opinion does not make Port a good chance at winning the premiership, when the inside 50 efficiency is tripe.

MJK Holdings to dip in $1m per year for the next three years. Chinese sponsor.

I said it was an impressive stat. And imho more often than not defence does win premierships.

Perhaps I could have worded it better, how about "Ports no.1 defensive rating puts them among the log jam of clubs lining up to finish 2nd to the Crows"? ;)

Is it too early to judge the China game? Should it be looked at in a few weeks when the clubs have returned to normal fixtures?

What are peoples initial thoughts - i see the haters on social media are still being negative towards it, i personally really enjoyed watching it, thought it was good - ground looked reasonable (although looked small), weather appeared to be really nice and i actually liked the look of the stadium itself.

I didn't enjoy the commentary though, the constant references to "firsts in China" or "a record for matches in China" or "most populous country in the world".

Good on them for having a go, however told for months that it was a 14k sell out, then only 10k turn up in a city with 120k expats?

Then again they have been open that this is purely about $$$$ so would still play the game with a few hundred there I suspect....Ill wait and judge when they announce their financials come year end, we keep hearing about the upside but very little about what this has costed. My suspicions will be "we made a $300k loss but spent $800k on the China experiment which will pay off for us further down the track.

Briefly heard Kochie this morning saying that there are more costs for year 1 in setting it up and all the ground work etc and that in the future those costs wont be there.

How much did the AFL put into the venture as well? I heard them say yesterday the AFL basically hired the ground off everyone, and relocated other sports/fixtures for the last 6 months, then of course had an Australian company come over and do the ground maintenance and get it right.

Also random.. but is kicking the ball in China harder lol? I can't believe how many shanks and poor kicks there were yesterday, including easy shots on goal... Was it windy or something?

Heard Hinkley in the lead up say that the ground was a little bit longer and slightly narrower than adelaide oval.

Hey Boon, remember how you constantly bag me for the swans membership numbers considering the population . Well your lot couldn't even fill a 14k stadium with a population of 24 million in shanghai. ;)

Wow, maybe it was the openness of the stadium that made it appear smaller than it was lol?

The $4m spent on this game ( infrastructure etc ) was, I believe, completely covered by the backers of the game. None of the parties from Australia are out of pocket is my understanding.

Next years game will cost significantly less to hold now that the ground, surface etc is in place.

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
