Re: The never ending No AFL in the SANFL whinge thread
Wait a second. The SANFL OWNED the licences of both the Crows and Port until recently.
So saying the crows dont "pay" for something is just semantics as it was all owned by the SANFL. And this would have been negotiated when the crows bought the licence from the SANFL a few years ago
As for agendas on the SANFL management, you cant really argue with that.

Pretty sad to read this when as a South supporter for over 40 years I begged our board (with other members) to vote "no" to bring the AFL ressie sides in the competition. I could see the writing on the wall.
Sad thing is that the 2 AFL reserve sides cost us (Port 2014 and Cows 2016) 2 chances of winning our first premiership since 1964.
Just heartbreaking that it happened to us who stood by our principles and morals to vote "no".
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

Imagine how good it will be for the competition if the port or crows reserves were to win a premiership. How good would it be for their loyal supporters that have occasionally followed them for three years, through all the hardships. And for the players that have "bled" for the team, training in such poor facilities with limited coaching staff. Having to endure being full time footballers not getting to enjoy having to earn money outside of football. Think of their "supporters" southee and what a win would mean for their club. Though, don't think of any of my port or crows supporter friends. None of my crows mates went to the finals last year to see the south and central defeats. None of my port mates go or went to the gf against norwood or to watch the panthers lose that year. However I reckon a few have occasionally "liked" the articles on Facebook when their "team" wins, so all is good.

I've always thought that 'club' is an odd word to describe a pretty artificial franchise that was only incorporated in 1996, but I'm glad it's working out for you.
You follow the Woodville West Torrens Pecker Warrior Eagles, don't you, RB?
A club that is, would you believe it, even older than Port.
So you've got a caveat on how old you consider a club is before it becomes a club in your eyes?
Either a hypocrite or an idiot.

Sure. Just hand your license back.
I look forward to the hundreds of pages of posts relating to Adelaide living rent free at West Lakes for nearly 30 years.
An arrangement that is equally outrageous.
I'm all ears....go on....

3 options with salary cap
1 stay is
2 reduce
3 reduce limit by $50k but have option of two $25k marquee players.
I like option 3 tbh.
The league needs to do something.

Port paid $2.9 million more than what you are suppose to for its licence ??
I've seen some bs claims from pafc supporters over the years.
But I think we have a new champion.

Re: The never ending No AFL in the SANFL whinge thread
Does anyone know the status of the player eligibility. The magpies have a bye this week and the Power has a bye next week. Is there some players agreement that the power listed player all have a bye at the same time. If so who can play for the magpies next week. In the past couple of seasons the SANFL has arranged a bye week to correspond with AFL bye.

Oh you mean once/IF you continue to pay your sanfl obliged "development grants" over the next 15 years in exchange for your afl licence. Will the SANFL take it away from the $16 mill Wasted on PAFC by SA football previously.
Got ya.
Answer: I really doubt the $400k per year PAFC will continue to contribute to assist with "development" whilst gaining its afl licence could be taken off any debt. PAFCs contribution Of $50k per sanfl club per year will do jack shit to assist the sanfl clubs.
As per the discussion over the last 300 pages if you paid any attention at all.
Maybe do everyone a favour and stick to Div 7 footy.

The rules change every year and no one knows about it until mid season, so who knows.

Re: The never ending No AFL in the SANFL whinge thread
In all honesty, where is the evidence of this $16m SANFL bailout?
The *AFL* provided Port with 3 million a year from 2011 to 2013 - 1 million directly and 2 million in the form of a loan to the SA football commission - which was part of a package which the Crows also benefited from (they got $1m a year)

There is a theory that humans are at the apex of evolution on this planet with respect to cognitive process to demonstrate a higher level of intelligence both emotionally and behaviourally.
This thread challenges that theory.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
