Re: Riverland Football Chatter
Hearing Laurence Angwin will be lining up for Rovers B grade this week..... Could be a tuff day for Roo's B grade backline with him & young Twyford up forward for the Rovers.
How old is Angwin these days, 34-35? Still got A grade years left in him?

Luckily for the BMFC B grade, Angwin hasn't been named at this point haha.

Re: Riverland Football Chatter
Hearing a few more IN's could be on the way for Berri before the cut off, possibly just in time for the Fisher cup.
BC you hearing much down your way?
Anthony Karner being named as one of them so not sure of the quality. But end of the day, all about trying to have some depth & getting good numbers out on Saturday in the B's & A's.

Spoke to a few people from the club yesterday and it's amazing what a week can do!
Looks like they are back on track. They have written this year off and already concentrating on next year trying to get as many locals back as possible.
All of this could have been avoided if the committee had the balls to move Lefty on last year. But that's what happens when half the committee are family and friends. Coincidentally, those supporters of his are gone now as well.
They have one person left to move on now, but that will only be done if they have a new person come into the club

Na I haven't heard much at all. The more the merrier though.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Well he lasted 3 rounds....
Any word why he has put in a transfer back to Adelaide Plains? Leaving for personal reasons or wasn't to happy with the situation at the club?

Re: Riverland Football Chatter
maybe its a mutual decission, not much use to pay big bucks for someone with the year Berri are likely to have.
might as well save up the cash for next years revival

Re: Riverland Football Chatter
Big Nobes making the pioneer backpage. Still early days but would he have to be one of the best forwards the league has seen for a long time? Averaging 9 goals a game at this stage. Surely will kick 120+. Spose it's an easier job when you have quality delivery from those mids.
Who else would be in that bracket of key forwards over the last 10-20years?

Was running water for Virginia on Saturday. If he's signed a contract, club is under no obligation to clear him either.
Those things are binding these days. He'd want to be leaving on good terms.
Right in front of me. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

What are the rules with contracts? Are they only binding if there is a debt is involved, which then the new club or player can pay the debt to have the player cleared? I know that has happened a lot over the past few years with players moving around.
Didn't think you could lock down a player unless there is a financial dispute.

Has a history of leaving clubs when they're losing.

Re: Riverland Football Chatter
Well I was well wrong with the Fisher cup...... Anthony Karner did play but still ended up a blow out. Good to see Gates showing the passion still on the sideline. Tuff job ahead, but I reckon he could be the man to fix things up.
Heard a crazy rumor Berri have also decided to tell their recruits that they are welcome to stay, but wont be getting paid more than travel. The contract conditions were based on performance. Makes things little harder for berri but if true, I can understand the move.
But it could all be false. Just heard it form a couple people now.

If it's based on performance, they should be paying the club!

Re: Riverland Football Chatter
Saw another coward punch yesterday in an Independent game, the 2nd in less than a season. Both times, in true coward fashion, the offender bolted for the interchange to avoid retribution. This behaviour, combined with frequent cheap shots is a blight on the league. With the shortage of umpires resulting in inexperienced club volunteers putting their hands up, this behaviour becomes impossible to keep in check. I know some leagues now video all games. Is this something that needs to be considered?
