Sad day for all football fans, regardless of how much you hate Collingwood. Very much a founding father of football entertainment media.

Yep he was a pioneer of footy on TV.
Better then the over analytical try hards that grace the footy shows theses days.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

One of the pioneers of football on TV and an absolute icon of the game.

Few football people compare with the great Lou Richards

This truely makes me sad, my heart goes out the the Collingwood FC and to those like me who grew up watching and listening to him.

Vale Lou you will be sorely missed.

Last night Laughing Kookaburra posted that YouTube clip in the footy programs thread of the footy show from 1993 and Lou Richards was on it, I had forgotten about him and it left me thinking I wonder how he's going then today I read he's past away. A bit creepy.

RIP Lou.

The MRP are f**ked.

Stevens and Waite both get a week! honestly it's a contact sport for Christ sake, no one wants to see blokes knocked out in tackles but broken tackles are spoken about week after week yet now you can't tackle a bloke for fear of missing a week.

And to rub salt in the umpire actually awarded the Stevens tackle holding the ball 2 days later, 2 week suspension WTF!

I really fear where this once great game is heading.
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

Koby Stevens cops two weeks (one with early plea) for a hard tackle. The game has become very vanilla.

Waite extremely stiff too.

Regardless that I follow North, it's one of the worst suspensions I can recall.

It's pretty consistent with how they have been interpreting it for a couple of years. Tackle a guy like that and he gets concussed, he goes for weeks.

Whether you agree with that or not it's no different to a dozen others

And they'll keep doing it whilst the lawyers circle with claims for concussion based compensation for players

Why wasn't Crouch suspended for his sling Tackle on Atley - which he was given a free for? Why wasn't Walker rubbed out for his sling tackle on Hansen? The North players braced for impact, thus avoiding concussion.
Yet gutlessly punch a bloke whilst they're not looking (as a repeat offender) and get another slap on the wrist.
Yep, makes plenty of sense.
