Three outstanding sides in D7 with MP, PH and AL.. it's a shame that only two are able to go up end of the year.

Not really, we're about the same standard as last year, last years team probably had a bit more talent if anything. Only Para Hills would be close to finalists in D6 IMO.

You're just seeing the monumental difference between D6 and D7.

Mawson Lakes and Houghton would be in the top 3 down here as well.

Another good game vs The God Botherers on Satdee. Played in good spirits. Thought again they probably dominated larger portions of the game but our forwards knew the conditions a bit better and took their opportunities.

Must say, the Luthie D7R team is phenomenal. Can't see anyone (other than the Div 5 Side ressies) getting within cooee of them.

Maybe look at the 'Div5r' sides last result against them.....

Yeah just checked that, that side is D5R quality. Finished 9-9 in 2015 in that division.

So we have a D5 quality side playing in D7 and D5R side playing in D7R.

Very true, easy to forget how big the gap is between the divisions.

They're significantly better than last year...

Knew they would be - they weren't as strong last year as previous years due to injuries, holidays etc. a lot of changes.

Speaking with the lads over summer during cricket, they spoke about a lot of players returning and had recruited some more top end talent. With MP losing a fair few, think it was always going to be AL's division to lose.

They have a seriously good reserves side. Far more depth than the rest of the comp that's for sure.

With MP losing a fair few, think it was always going to be AL's division to lose.

Looking at our side from the weekend, I reckon 4 or 5 players would've made my best team last year. Lost a few is an understatement.

We've beaten an undermanned St Pauls and Central United at home, North Pines away and snagged wins against Adelaide Lutheran and Adelaide Uni thanks to their inaccurate kicking for goal.

Flinders Uni, Para Hills and TTG away will tell us where we're at.

I will say I think we've got the best sideline in the comp. We've got an exceedingly good senior coach and a raft of very experienced and capable assistants. We had something like 11 premierships between everyone in a coaching role on the weekend.

If I kept going they probably would've stayed. And if they stayed then a few more would've kept going ... then it snowballs. Despite copping a lot of criticism from the outside some of my philosophies were actually quite popular with that particular playing group.

They wouldn't be very good players if they're at Marion this year
