Also think that PAOC has delegated their C1 as their C Grade side whereas last year it was their D7 side. May be mistaken though? I.e this year it's nominally their D Grade? I also think PAOC grades its players along a lot more "linear/traditional" talent model than Adelaide Uni for example.

Will Dalwood is suspended from the Grand Final I think Trader.

All ex boarders going home to play
I think Ben Young is the only city slicker
He won the B Grade B&F but couldn't crack the A Grade
He's a med student and played for zip with us.
Im guessing but maybe he can earn something but still play with his mates going home

NFI should be a decent club now too, whatever league they're in.

Interesting if true.
So the 2016 Div 7 runners up (by a couple of points from memory) lost to ROCs C1s in 2017 by 30 goals?

I think we have an answer to the old "would a C1 side beat a Div 7 side?"

Ah, didn't realize that.

I see he got 2 games.
So give it's round 3 in Div 7 this week, we'd expect him to line up against Flinders Uni on Saturday?

That's actually an interesting point. Can someone suspended in an D1 game when it's the last game of the season nominally serve their suspension in one of the Grades that starts before D1?

At a guess I recon he'll sit the week out to be safe. But if they wanted to push the point, I doubt there is a bylaw that covers it.

Maybe he'd be free to play in D7 but not in D1?

Plenty of potential players for that club

Not quite, if going by the list above, 20+ players out means a very weakened side for their C's

That's never been a question really because everyone knows the answer to that is "no".

So, was he suspended for pushing Ryan Spittle into the goal post? I see the umpires are using the footage of that as a red card example. It would have nice if the umpire had produced a card on the day.

Well if PAOC are lining up their C's in C1 and D's in Div 7 as reported by Jo172, I'd suggest the answer is clearly yes!

Nope, as players can only drop one grade at a time too.

So if you played A grade last week, you can't play C grade this week? Or is this example different because it was a final. I tried (not very hard) to find the rules on this not so long ago as a team we played in the C grade had an A grader playing from the week before

Well if PAOC are lining up their C's in C1 and D's in Div 7 as reported by Jo172, I'd suggest the answer is clearly yes!

My understanding is that PAOC looked at doing this but ended up leaving their c grade in div 7. Having seen quite a bit of c1 and div 7 over the last few years, top c1 sides would be mid range in div 7 with a point of difference being fitness levels. Certainly at Uni there's quite a bit of talent floating in both div 7 and c1 with both sides being roughly equal in talent; the c grade in div 7 is younger as div 7 is seen as a better stepping stone to a and b grade because of the longer games and structures that players are exposed to.
My understanding is that ROCS also had about 20 players missing out on a game.

We've always had the understanding that this can't be done unless the player in question has played more, or the same amount of games in the lower grade. In finals, if all grades Are in finals, players not selected in the a grade can play in any grade.
