Agreed, same with Ziebell.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.
If you want to go far, go together.

Geelong players offered (after discounts) 1 week (sling tackle) and 2 weeks (elbow) for their respective hits on Hodge.
I said to a mate at the time, that hit by Parsons deserves to be 4 but because he didn't crack the guys' jaw he'll get 2 or 3. Joke.

Re: AFL Round 4
It's funny. Personally I rate flushing someone in the head with a raised elbow right up there with the worst things you can do on a footy field right behind spitting, eye gouging, grabbing someone by the nuts and touching an umpires or support staff. The damage you can do with an elbow when running at full tilt is scary especially if you hit them in the right spot. That deserved a lot more than 2 weeks!
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

Re: AFL Round 4
Was he trying to get him in the head though? IMO he was trying to lay a bump that went wrong.

His intention is irrelevant. If you make contact with the head even in the act of bumping, you're gone
If you don’t like my words, don’t listen. If you don’t like my appearance, don’t look. If you don’t like my actions, turn your head; It’s as simple as that.

Yes I understand that, it was in reference to laughingkookaburras comment about it being the worst thing you can do on a footy field and comparing it with spitting, eye gouging etc.

Fair call

Then there's Gibson. If it was as simple as that he would have gone too. He bumped and collected Ruggles in the scone but got off.
Dont get me wrong, Parsons deserves a holiday and Gibson's was a great shepherd but consistency says Gibson goes on your logic

I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do

Ruggles needed to protect himself too.

Re: AFL Round 4
I think Ruggles was blindsided to be honest. He didn't seem to even notice Gibson coming

Re: AFL Round 4
Players have lost the art of protecting their head these days. Even Lewis' hit on Cripps the other week was always going to get games, but Cripps would have been a good chance of avoiding injury had he protected his face/head.
