Well I've not played TTG yet, but have it with the Club Advantage card via Vines. I've heard TTG is in good condition but that's here say from some members.

Our group is leaving the Vines due to slow play Nazis, and I know TTG has big membership numbers. So it all depends on when you want to play

I used to be a member at TTG and Highercombe (at the same time as a junior) and was wondering how SC compares to TTG? I am looking at rejoining a club now that both of my boys play sport either later Saturday or Sunday morning.

Actually my eldest, 14 years old, has said he would like to start playing as well.

Just trying to figure out if it SC would be a better course for us.

My old man is a member at SC and he raves when he's not bitching about his game, but wanted some other ideas on it.

Thanks in advance...

Sandy Creek, SA $40 to $50

Formerly known as Gawler Golf Club, Sandy Creek is a must-play course while visiting the Barossa Valley. Scenic and strategic in equal doses, the layout is a genuine sleeper course in South Australia. The clever par-3 sixth hole is worth the green fee on its own. www.sandycreekgolf.com.au

I am a casual golfer that only plays 6 times a year, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but I have played all the courses you mentioned.

Personally I think TTG is better than SC, but SC isnt far behind, and is certainly lot better than Highercombe. The course is longish, but the fairways are pretty wide for the most part. In great condition. Greens are good but a level below TTG. The rough is quite sandy most of the time (probably obvious given the name haha) but it makes recovery shots quite difficult.

Worth checking out for sure

If you're playing weekly probably TTG
But if not than SC at just over half the cost would be the way to go.

Then if junior is just starting out, would Sandy Creek be an easier course to get started on???

Thanks for the help guys...

I started out at TTG as a junior, @ the same age my eldest is now, and it was pretty tough... before letting him loose on the course proper, we would be getting him some lessons on the basics, apart from what I can help him with, so it isn't completely foreign to him...

Now to convince Mrs Jase... :)

If you ever get up this way, give Berri a go. Course is in magnificent condition at the moment. Has a great 19th hole too.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Played TTG 4 weeks ago through crazygolfdeals

Course was immaculate from start to finish. Absolute ripper

Sandy creek I found equally as good. Maybe a tad behind.

West lakes next weekend and off to mildura in June for a couple days at the resort. Has anyone done mildura I've not been before.

Crazygolfdeals.com.au also has mount compass 2 golfers cart and a beer for 69. Gonna have to jump on thay one soon

Played at Wirrina back in 09
It's gone through a couple of management changes since, hopefully the course is in good nick. I found it a fairly easy course.
Great forecast for it.
