Matthew Wade...is there any chance you can support your bowler?

He's done it in 51 less test matches than Tubby.

Interesting stat that. He's long, long way away from being anywhere near Tubby as a skipper, hopefully the gap closes with time. I reckon Tubs would rather have started his career against a Smudger era Windies than the one he faced.

The gap will close a long way if they win this series! This will be more impressive than Taylor's 1995 West Indies win. And Border's 1989 Ashes victory.

Maybe, I'm from a different era, that Ashes win was like winning lotto for a cricket nuffie back then. AB is our version of a cricketing deity. Without him in the mid to late 80's we were completely fu***d. Not the tactically best skipper we've had but he saved Australian cricket from complete ruin.

Yep, I wouldn't rate winning this series above those mentioned... But it would be a famous series win that I will gladly bask in haha.

Tubby opened the batting against some of the best opening bowlers in Test history. A brilliant cricketing brain. His record is extremely sound.

The aussie media should apologise to the curator because this is a pretty good bloody wicket. Much more like the England series, good luck bowling them out on these tracks. This is where Starc would have been massive, cummins is good but the left armer is always a little more dangerous.

Agree it was showing a couple signs yesterday. Reckon once it starts it will turn shithouse quickly. We are still in the box seat her but need to roll them for at most 350

Not sure Smith rates Maxwell as a bowler evidence being the lack of using him in the one day series

This is crucial session. If we can get a few wickets this session we are in the box seat but if they finish 4 or 5 for 400 then I reckon they would be in front
