Henriques would have to be pretty pissed, after making 260 odd or whatever it was. Im not saying he is a gun either but surely if they want a batting seam bowling allrounder he would be the one to pick.

Or Hilton Cartwright
Yep seems you need to be out of form these days to be considered.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.
Replacing one bloke who hasnt earned it with another!
...While Stoinis, 27, is averaging 15.63 with the bat and 39 with the ball in the 2016-17 Shield season...
This obsession with unearthing the next great all-rounder or gem in the rough is getting out of hand!
Yes it's a ridiculous decision. I rate Stoinis and I think he's capable of playing international cricket (Was good to dee him show what he can do in the ODI side) but he's been so out of form this season and did not deserve to be Marsh's replacement.
I wouldn't like his selection but Henriques should of been the guy to replace Marsh. He's performed the best out of all the allrounders in first class cricket this summer. Had a pretty debut in India aswell.

Exactly. Not as if he did anything in the Shield after coming back from his previous 'injury'.
We have taken 20 wickets in both tests. Marsh took none of those and did nothing with the ball. He essentially made our tail begin at 6 with Starc being the only batter in the bottom half to show any form and credit where it's due to Wade who showed some grit but from a limited skill set.
If Australia play Stoinos who averages 15 ahead of Khawaja I'm going to lose my sh&t. How this is even being discussed or considered is one of the more vexing cricket selections in the history of the game.

Non-rounders maybe more apt?
I get we had an edge in previous generations through all-rounders or batsman-keepers, but if they don't exist why do we persist with trying to make square pegs fit round holes?
Honestly we are losing our shit at the moment. Its 1-1 and we havent been this close to india in india for a while. Pick a bloke whi can bat FFS. Our bowlers can get the job done, the batsmen however need a hand.

Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards
we used to have a guy on our cricket team that batted at 11 and didnt bowl. We started calling him specialist fielder, but he couldnt even do that, so we started calling him specialist good bloke
Another guy on our team could also score well, so he was an all rounder
Maybe Marsh and Stoinis are just good blokes? haha

I think the worry is if a bowler breaks down during the test on these pitches. Get one of the usual Indian roads that have been dished up in the past it would almost destroy a bowler.

If Hazelwood or Starc break down, the bowling of Stoinis isnt going to stop us from getting pumped anyway.
With 2 spinners, the need for a 5th bowler is much less.
They could also look at the pitches being produced and make a call before the toss about whether the 5th bowler is required - which they could have easily worked out for the first two tests
Wasn't thinking we wouldn't get pumped but could have three bowlers bowling 50 overs each in an innings in extreme conditions , that could do anything to say Starc or Hazelwood.
Maybe Marsh and Stoinis are just good blokes? haha
This actually made me think of this article, Mitchell Johnson sticking up for the Marsh boys. My brother told me about it and I forgot to share it on here earlier. https://www.google.com.au/amp/www.sport ... f0xq6uh33w
Johnson addressed that while performance is key, their presence also has a major influence on the Aussies.
''And this may come as a surprise to the public but while performance is number one, not far behind it is your personality,'' he wrote on Fox Sports.
''And both the Marsh boys are decent, funny fellas.
''I’m not saying you have to be a nice guy or bow down to Cricket Australia to hold your place in a team, but you want to be on the right path.
''If you’re not very well liked? Well, we’ve seen with players in the past where they’ve been outstanding players but they’ve done something to somebody along the way and not played again for their country.
''Whether that’s a personality thing or they’ve said something they shouldn’t have or been in the media too many times, it can play a role.
''One thing I do know is how hard both Shaun and Mitch work.
''I’m backing them to fire for Australia in Bangalore in what is a hugely important Test match.''
The former Australian paceman called for the public to stop being jealous.
''I could sit here and explain that they’re both terrific blokes, but that won’t wash with a lot of readers: because the simple fact is they’re out there to perform and they’re getting well paid to do so,'' Johnson said.
''But they just cop criticism.
''They’re magnets for it, for some reason. And I think the anger directed at them boils down to jealousy.''

The bloke who scores well both on and off field is certainly a specialist!
