I would rather Maxwell but wouldn't mind if Agar was to play. Both of them would able to contribute more than Marsh is.
Perhaps being a left arm spinner and therefore turning the ball away from all the Indian righthanders might see Agar selected. Maxwell is probably the better option with the bat out of the two.
But would either actually get a bowl if they played? Probably not.
I'd go Maxwell over Agar, only because Agar is another left hander that Ashwin can exploit and Maxwell is so unconventional that he can play a wide range of random shots to score lol, so might have more success.

Why can't we just pick a batter to bat at 6? Why does he have to be a part time spinner or part time fielder or part time wanker? Why can't he just be a batter? Khawaja has to replace Marsh at 6.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Coz selectors feel the need to continue to push for this all-rounder position.

They've picked the side thinking we'll need the 5th "bowler" as India will bat for 2 days straight. They've selected the side based on how well we think the other team will bat.
Pick the side that suits us best, ie no Marsh's. Khawaja 3 and Maxwell 6. Maxwell is a batsman who can bowl a few overs and that's all we need. Starc is supremely fit and can be called upon over and over, SOK and GOAT run 10 steps collectively per over, they can earn their keep and keep trundling in.
Next Test doesn't start until next Thursday and if it goes to day 5 there's 4 days until the 4th Test starts. Plenty of rest time.

I reckon it was a bob each way and very entertaining
Though I'm surprised more wasn't made of Warner overheard sledging in the stump mic very clearly on the broadcast doing his best 'mahatma coat' impersonation while telling the Indian batsmen he had no idea.
I know it's a tad petty but I thought in this day and age the media would have been all over it
First time in a while I haven't missed a ball of the test match
Definitely, I had no problem with it, tbh. However, I've seen so many headlines about Aussie bad behaviour in the past, people quick to slam the Australian team. India? *crickets*
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

you reckon this happens? I think its the opposite recently

Doubt you'll get many on here that would argue against that stat

What's more frustrating is an all rounder spot becomes available and Head fails while Wildermuth stars, Henriques hits a 50 and Stoinis takes 2 for and 46

You are amazing whufc, you continue to bag Ferg for being picked after under achieving, then you seem to be pushing Head for Test selection when he has done bugger all to deserve it. Your bias is so predictable and boring.

I think we should play Khawaja but if we have to play an all rounder I think it should be a 'spinning' all rounder
He is on par if not a better choice than Maxwell or Agar
Imho his unfortunately the best of a bad bunch at the moment

I'm as close to a test side call up as Head
Yep Head isn't even our best batter anymore. Lehmann for mine is next picked....... and he's miles off being picked for national duties.
