You ( for what you understand ) tell me it's now "cost neutral", that we have both acknowledged, which means it's not costing Port or the AFL money out of their pockets. If it was costing us money, it would be a failure, if it's not costing us money it would be a success, wouldn't it?
Yes, you can phone a friend if you need to.
im not the greatest fan of UK, but surely breaking even doesnt automatically guarantee that its a success.
If port breaks even, gold coast makes 500k plus arguably greater sponsorship and tourism opportunities, and both take a hit in terms of onfield performance, surely that would be a net negative for port?
If after all the hard work Kochie and the club has gone too to get this game going, surely if they only break even then that is a fail! You're not in business to break even.

Over 5000 Port people are heading over according to reports from various travel agencies, I'd expect a couple of thousand GC people to do the same.
Ex-pats from Hong Kong, Japan etc. The stadium will fill and I'd think a few thousand Chinese will be in.
The game is being televised live into several Chinese TV stations too.
5000 people? Power supporters know China isn't anywhere near Port Augusta don't they? Can't see that many shelling out that much too fly to China IMO
We are going to China in June, got flights for $290 return from Sydney and believe they were offering them for about $500 from Adelaide. To put that in comparison it cost me $520 last year to go to the Gold Coast and watch Essendon play.

WOW I didn't realise they were so cheap. 5000 still seems a stretch though to me.
