I like Smudger's intent, controlled aggression. If he can sneak 40-50 we're a big show.

I'd take Stan Darsh repeating his first dig to be honest.

1/19 Warner gone for 10, would have liked him in for about 10 overs in some sort of full flight

Things need to change.
Test cricket isn't resolved over 3 days.
Disgrace shit wickets like this are allowed to be dished up.

We need to throw the bat, will be knocked over for under 50 if we try to defend. Have a crack and hopefully make 120-150

Starc summed up this pitch well in the first dig, defend the good ones as well as you can and have a good crack at anything in your zone.

A few tests like this one where it backfires on them will change their thinking but personally I don't have a issue with what they have done. No one bats a eyelid when England, South Africa and NZ prepare raging green tops that are done in 3 days

The 1972 Fuserium pitch for example.

Smith dropped, relatively straight forward chance. Next ball he reverse sweeps for 4

Does Starc or Wade come in next and try and belt a quick 30 or 40?
Would be very handy now.

Doesn't matter where we get the 30-40 from.
Bat as long as we can, pitch only going to get worse.

No point in Mitch Marsh trying to defend on this pitch, his defensive technique is non existent. Swing away, if he jags 15-20 goodo, if he fails so be it.
