Quick google search reveals the hype up articles just before it opened and the early weeks of operation........Italian raised chef with an Asian owner who has no restaurant experience. He was a sales consultant before going into this game.

Heading out to Sammy's on the Marina for lunch today. Under new ownership so hopefully the food is better now than some of the reviews I've read on the place.

The service got pretty bad for a while there too. Hopefully everyone has had a solid kick up the arse.

How did this visit end up?? I have been there twice in the last year and both times the service has been terrible and the food quality was not what I would reasonably expect for such a reputable but expensive place...

See my review, they're banned for me. Last visit we walked out 45 minutes into the night when the service was so poor the table next to us, who arrived after us, got their meals before us even though we had ordered first. The waitress, when we asked where our meals were went off, came back with the manager and asked what did we order and with who? Err, with you sweetie and you wrote it on the pad in your hand.....they gave us two $100 vouchers upon our departure and in one last ditch effort didn't charge us for 3 beers and a bottle of Rockfords. I doubt the vouchers will get used by me.

So what happened ?
Ive been going to Stanleys/Mannys/Sammys for many years , but not recently
All three were mainly owned by the same family interests over the years
Ive had nothing but excellent food and very good customer service at those eaterys
Now I read its dropped standard , Im surprised

There is a fish shop Sammys thats recently opened up at North East Road Collinswood , similar family involvement from what Ive heard
It was formerly Andys Yiros

Work has been taking us to the Queens Head as of late and it always deliver.

I'm not a fan of spending $23-25 on a Pizza but when they pick up the Tab why the hell not. The SA Prawn is one of the better Pizzas I have ever had and all the boys rave about the Barossa all meat variety.

Had plans to go the The Sailmaster at North Haven last night with friends.

They got there a few minutes before us and had a look at the menu. Since the change of ownership, the menu has gone from three pages down to one.

The weekday specials are gone. The basic steak and mash is $38.

They called us as we were driving there and asked for a better recommendation. We ended up at the Prince of Wales. We were the only ones at the place at 8pm. $12 schnittys, free run on the buffet. Staff attended to our every need, including a gluten intolerance. (a real one, not one of these trendy ones).

Cant speak highly enough of the place. Thanks @Booney for bringing it to my attention.
